Location is great. Room was clean. Bed is firm. But don't stay here... you risk getting a room like mine which is like a shoe box. I was kept awake all night by noise from reception/neighbours, fan, etc. No decoration at all. TV doesn't work. Curt service by reception staff on arrival (they obviously not happy working here) "there is no breakfast after 9.30am" I was told on arrival. Breakfast wins the prize for 'no frills' - juice from concentrate, horrible processed bread, no fruit at all. Boiled egg was fine! How awful to face another 3 nights here

The pros: location is great, price is not so bad

The cons: the rooms are not well isolated which is not ideal when you're in the center of Florence and the people in reception where the worst part.

The first night we ask to change rooms because of the street noise, the reception people told us that a family with a baby was staying there for one week and didn't complain at all so they won't change us. The second day something went wrong with the AC and we couldn't turn it off, when we ask about it they say they will try fixing it but the best solution was to open the windows to let the room temperature regulate.

Stayed: May 2014

This is an excellent hotel for exploring the sights of Florence. Within 100yds of the Duomo. Many restaurants/cafes/coffee shops and shops close by. The hotel appears to be family owned and the family and staff are very friendly. It appears to have been modernised recently with a veryhigh standard bathroom(shower only) I think you must expected some noise from street restaurants if you are staying in narrow streets near the Duomo. Housekeeping standards excellent.

Room Tip: Avoid a front room because of road/people noise at night

Unfortnately our room opened to the street via two french doors. Whilst quite cute, at night time it was very noisy as the doors did not keep out much of the street noise and in Florence there is a lot of street noise until past midnight. If I was to stay here again i would never stay in a street facing room at this hotel unless you are a very heavy sleeper.

Room Tip: Avoid a street facing room

With this hotel, you get the best value for your money! You get more than what you pay for at a stone's throw away from everything - the sights, the food, the convenience and the over-all experience of being in the heart of Florence.
1) Amazing location - this hotel is a block away from the Duomo, and you get an amazing view of the Duomo every time you make a turn at the corner; 10 minute walk from the train station; just at the corner of the main drag Via Cazouli, wine bar (Coquinarius), gelateria (Grom), pasticceria (best Bomboloni) at every corner
2) Helpful and friendly staff - for a small, no-frills hotel, the staff are all friendly and gave us the best recommendation on restaurants
3) Clean, bigger than usual rooms (I mean by European standard), charming old-world interior

What not to expect:
1) do not think you will get a "holiday inn" style franchise hotel room
2) do not expect a continental breakfast with hot food... you are in Italy, they eat pastries and coffee for breakfast

I have been to Florence twice, and I will come back to this hotel anytime.

Rooms just ok expected more. The woman staff member was very nice and helpful. She spoke English and helped book our day trips to other cities. The breakfast was poor. The location was great!!! Walking distance to everything very convenient location!!!

Stayed for 3 nights between Xmas and new year at what was a very steep ~A$200 rate due to booking late. Didn't feel it was value for money at that price.

Pros:
Hotel is centrally located near the duomo
Rooms are clean and in good condition

Cons:
Breakfast was very poor
Service was variable - our room card would not open the door one time and the staff could not find a solution. Told us to wait after new guests arrived! Miraculously the card started working again otherwise would have been locked out all night!
