Just steps from the Duomo, this charming small family run hotel is immaculately clean, affordable and in the heart of Florence. I stayed here several times in the late 90's in January and June and was treated like family. Breakfast is served in a small room behind reception and is included. No bar, but you can bring in your own wine and they will keep it in the kitchen for you. I prefer a room on an upper floor, higher the better, at the front of the hotel overlooking the street. There is no more glorious experience of lying in bed and hearing the boom boom boom of the Duomo bells ringing out, the same sound that has rung out for 500 years over these same roof tops.. affordable restaurants are within a few steps of the front door. I recommend this Hotel for those on a tighter budget. The owners will make you feel at home, and will organize trips, train tickets, restaurant reservations, order taxis, send out your laundry, whatever you need.
