“Great place to stay”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 July 2013

Our family of 4 stayed there for 3 nights in June 2013. It's a short walk from the train station. We walked to all the main attractions. Great view of park and city. Nice breakfast. Pleasant staff. Comfortable room with a huge window. Wifi was good for Italy. A bonus was 2 laundromats nearby since we were in Italy for 3 weeks and were able to wash some clothes for the rest of the trip - rare in Italy. We would definitely stay there again.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the park side.

Our stay was for three nights and four days. The staff was very helpful and kind. Since we are earlier risers, they offered to come in early to start breakfast. We said that was not necessary but they did make us coffee in the am. The owners were very visible and worked to make our stay comfortable. AC worked well even in the high heat 94 degrees. We had one triple for my mom and kids and one king. Our rooms were together which was helpful. In comparison to other rooms in Italy, I felt these were quite large. The hotel is in a great location and vey affordable.
We had the two corner rooms on the first floor of the hotel which is actually the third floor of the building. The elevator(lift) is old with the slide gate but worked well. Enjoy!

The Hotel was in a really good location, although it is on a third floor and can be reached by either a really old quaint lift or stairs. We had a fantastic view from our room over Florence, and the breakfast was good for such a small hotel, however the bathroom was really small, the shower didn't drain the water away and the hairdryer, never seen anything like it.
As I said the Hotel was on the third floor of a building and you had to press a buzzer to gain access, one night it wasn't late and after pressing the buzzer once it didn't open so my we pressed it again, the guy on the desk was quite rude saying in future only it press it once as it was late and we are disturbing the other guests . We went to bed but whoever was above us in heels never stopped walking up or down and moving things for a least an hour then started again very early the next morning. So who was disturbing who ?

Room Tip: room 101 has a good view but very small bathroom

Dear Guest. We are very sorry to know about the unkindness of our night porter. Is not your fault if he hadn't open quickly, absolutely. So we apologize for the inconvenient and thank so much for having posted a good comment! Keep us in touch, come back in Florence!

Excellent staff, very nice, helpful and accommodating. Double room spacious and clean. Convenient location at a park-plaza near the main train station and a short walk to the "attractions." Wifi connection can vary greatly depending on which room you have, but there is a computer for guests to use in the common area. There is a locked gate at street level and the lobby is on the third floor. Reception is manned 24 hours a day and access was immediately granted. The elevator is small but functional. A taxi stand is located across the street from the hotel and there is a bus stop half a block away on several bus lines. The train station is a ten minute walk. When in Firenze we will definitely stay at Hotel Andrea again.

We really enjoyed our experience at Hotel Andrea. It was close to everything in downtown Florence, affordable and clean. The A/C also worked really well. The staff was also friendly and very helpful. I would definitely recommend staying here if you're looking for a nice little hotel that's affordable.

Very nice hotel, our friends got a nicer view from the window than us. Shower was not very good, but bed comfy and rooms nice.

Would be nice if they mentioned that the hotel is located on the top floor of a residential building. They do have a life but looked a bit shaky so did not use it. (Not a great lover of these incase they break down).

Good advice from the hotel on were we could eat at night.

Breakfast was good.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a view of the garden.

To whoever is looking for an house's atmosphere, an old style, well here they will find it. It's intimate, situated at the third and forth floor of an old Florentine palace. The reception is always opened and it situated near the train station and it is possible to walk to downtown in 10 minutes.
