My mom (65 years old) sister (late 20's) and I all stayed at this hotel in Sep 2013, and fit all of our travel needs. It was small and not fancy, but very clean. Daily breakfast was very accomidating and good. The owners were very very nice and made us feel at home. The room was basic and a quick 10 min walk into town and the Duomo. We walked everywhere. Ask for a room that over looks the Dduomo as that really added to our expeirence. There isnt anything "right around the corner" for eating, but a quick 5 minute walk and there is. Good value, would visit again.

Hotel Andrea offered a good price for a two night stay so we decided to book it for the weekend. Its a 7 minute walk from the train station. Building looks old from outside. The first two floors are vacant and the hotel is on the third floor. We got a matrimonial room which in pictures seemed ok, but once we entered the room we were a bit disappointed because its super small. Theres just a 5cm space to walk along the bed. So if youre looking for a little spacious room, this hotel is definitly not for you. There is everything in the room. Lamp, Side table, a little tv, mirror, a little wardrobe. They clean your room everyday and provide fresh towels. but bring your own sponge and shampoo as there are super little sachets of body gels and a shower cap that you will find in your bathroom. The bathroom is very small as well. the breakfast is good.
The only thing i loved was the staff. They are very very friendly. Helped us out a lot with the maps and tours. There is a receptionist at night (a man with white hair), He is super kind. He spent half an hour just to find a best place where we could have dinner.
So I would suggest it for a short stay. AshMilo

Compared to other hotels in the area, this hotel is a bit farther from the Novella train station and the Duomo. It's a 5 min. walk before you can get to the nearest store or restaurant. The place is also kinda old and it shows with the room's layout. There is an A/C unit in the room but you're not given the remote control as the staff claims it's 'centrally controlled'. So if you feel hot or stuffy then you're left with opening the balcony glass doors; while this provides ventilation it'll also allow the mosquitoes in. There is free wifi and breakfast is adequate (comes with the room rate).

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a window view of the Duomo.

We stayed here during a short family trip to Florence in October 2013. We booked the family room, which has two rooms, one with a full size bed, the other with two twin beds. It also has a small balcony. Florence was unseasonably hot for that time of year, so the air conditioning had already been turned off for the season, but the person at the front desk secured a fan for us, and all was well. Enjoyed taking breakfast on the small balcony off the breakfast room, and the cappucinos were great!

This hotel felt more like a bed and breakfast. The kindness of the staff was amazing. I would stay here again in a heart beat! I was traveling with friends and it was perfect but if you were family or traveling as a couple it would be even better. Its quiet, safe, and just perfect. Everyone should stay here!
