This hotel was perfectly located in florence and the family who runs the hotel makes the entire florence expierience amazing. They take care of your needs, helps you with excursions, plans your trips upon request. We travelled with my 83 year old father and two teen age girls. They were very accommodating for all their needs and we were very happy. Loved the happy hour, friendly staff and met many other tourists because of their unusual way of running their hotel. Tbe air conditioning kelt us refreshed from thr 100 degree temperature and they jave clean rooms with all necessary hygienic needs. By the way, the stairs were not A problem for my 83 year old father. I plan on returning again since it was such a positve experience.

We just returned from a 12 day trip to Italy and stayed at the Hotel Davanzati in quad room for our family of four for 3 nights. The room was a good size and four of us could fit very comfortably. Our teen's were impressed by the technology options, free wifi and ipads in the lobby for your use. The room was very clean and the air conditioning was great. The happy hour was a treat that allowed us to meet others and have good conversations while obtaining travel tips for the rest of our visit. The comments about the stairs are completely correct, however if you are in decent shape the stairs are not an issue, the staff was very helpful with the heavy bags we were traveling with. The breakfast was hearty and plentiful, with fruit fresh and best of all they had ice (not common). We would recommend this hotel without hesitation.

My daughter and I stayed for 4 nights and the hotel was the perfect base to explore Florence. We knew about the flight of stairs, but someone appeared to carry our bags as soon as we arrived at the door, so there was no problem.

Our twin room was a reasonable size and one of the few we'd stayed in that didn't have the beds right next to each other. The room and bathroom were clean and the airconditioning worked well. The only small negative was the lack of power sockets near either bed, in fact there were only 2 in the room, both in inconvenient spots. However I don't think this was the case in other rooms..

Happy hour was so good we made a point of always being near enough to return to the hotel for it. We were able to meet other guests and exchange sightseeing plans and get tips from them and made some friends in the process. It was friendly, relaxed, and made us both feel a lot less isolated after so many weeks of travelling.

My daughter left her iPod in our previous hotel in Venice. As soon as I told the staff at Davanzati they phoned the hotel, aranged for it to be couriered to Florence and contacted the courier company to confirm arrival date. When it was due to be collected, I went to Reception to ask if they could confirm it had been, only to find they had already checked with the courier ompany. It hadn't been collected, due to a problem with the other hotel, so they repeated the whole procedure - calling Venice, waiting on hold for 20 minutes at a time with the couriers, and confirming it would arrive before we left Florence. With an hour to spare, my daughter got her iPod back. The staff at Davanzati went far beyond what I would have expected, and were happy to do so. They obviously genuinely care about their guests.

A group of us spent 2 nights here and we can only repeat what others have commented on about the very good service, (they will book tours and restaurants for you) and facilities. We walked from the station which wasn't far and knew to expect a flight of stairs when we arrived (thanks to TA) leading up to the first floor where the lift is.

We were greeted warmly and settled in our rooms. Mine was a good size, with laptop, digital clock, large TV with plenty of English channels, well stocked mini bar and good AC. Had a great couple of nights sleep. The bathroom was very large, suitable for a less abled person, the shower was very good and nice toiletries were provided.

The breakfast room is on the small side, although there are seats in the lobby area. At about 9am it seemed to get very busy and there were no spare tables for awhile. I had my breakfast at around 8am and it was fine then. There is a good selection of cereals, fresh fruits, pastries, cheese/meat etc. and the lady who serves the coffees and teas was very friendly.

Happy hour (6.30-7.30) seems to be a favourite with all the guests, a good place to catch up with others and have a drink before heading out for the evening. A good atmosphere with candles and music (could be a little loud).

We wish our stay could have been longer and highly recommend the hotel if visiting Florence.

First off, let me note that if there weren't a half flight of stairs to walk up to get to the hotel. the rating would have been 5.

The staff were friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed the afternoon snack. Because of our travel, we only got to have he happy hour one day.

Even before we arrived, they'd arranged our tickets to the Uffizzi and the Accademia.

We had a very generous-sized room. The bed was very comfortable. The tv picked up stations in many languages. In fact, we were able to view a James Bond movie.

The location was excellent. We were able to walk wherever we wanted to go.

The free wifi worked well. They gave us a number of codes which was important as we had multiple devices.

We'd stay there again - even with the 1/2 flight of stairs to the lobby.

I can only emphasise the glowing reviews already written. The location, service, comfort, attention to detail (special sound proofing glass fitted to windows and white noise machine), extras like free wifi, happy hour, ticket booking, make this a superb small hotel.

We stayed here for only two nights while we were in Florence. The hotel is beautiful, great breakfast, and front desk staff were VERY helpful. It was very busy and only one person working the desk, but he took his time with everyone and made sure they were satisfied. Gave great recommendations and drew a map on how to get to certain destinations. Our room was very nice, cool and clean. We loved it! We did have a problem with our TV, but were too tired at the end of our day to watch TV or really care to complain to have it fixed.
