“A Lovely Place to Spend Christmas and New Year!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 February 2009

We were fortunate enough to spend Christmas and the New Year at the Davanzati in Florence. We had a fantastic time in Florence. The Hotel is very conveniently placed and we wanted for nothing. The Staff are wonderful especially Fabrizio! We really appreciated the invite to dinner on Christmas Evening with Fabrizio's familly. We stayed in the 3 bedroomed Deluxe Junior Suite which was very comfortable. My seven year old son enjoyed the free playstation and games and the huge flat screen TV at the bottom of his bed! Both the bathrooms in the suite were great. Thanks Fabrizio, Tomasso and Family for a wonderful stay.
We would definitely recommend this hotel and hope to stay there again.

loved loved loved this little hotel, right smack in the middle of the old town, aka the nice tourist area. You are seriously 5 minutes from the main attractions (Uffizi for example)

it's neatly tucked away on a quiet side street so rooms are very quiet.

and the staff... am ashamed i don't the know the man's name. warm and welcoming, and kind.

and the hotel itself is very charming, clean, comfortable.

they offer free internet in your room. a laptop in every room. even a nintendo in every room.

just a wonderful stay.

will be back, there is no doubt about that.

All the hype is true. This hotel is wonderful. The staff is amazing...so friendly and super helpful. Breakfast, and nightly drinks were fantastic. In the evening, they lower the lights and light candles in the lobby. It's a really nice touch.
We chose a suite, which was very spacious, and even had a small terrace. Such a cute little hotel. I would recommend it to anyone and everyone.

A fantastic hotel in a great location. It is situated two minutes from Piazza della Republica and a few minutes from the Ponte Vecchio in the prime shopping district of Florence. The room and bathroom were absolutely fine, with no problems. Each room has a laptop in it so that internet access is on-tap, for the likes of checking in online etc.

The staff were most helpful and the breakfast was perfectly adequate for a B&B hotel. I couldn't recommend it more.

This hotel is wonderful - right in the middle of town but on a relatively quiet street, lovely rooms, great breakfast, and unbelievable service. We've never seen a hotel staff do such a professional job of welcoming and orienting their guests. They whip out a map, highlight sights (down to details like, "ok, if you already have reservations for Uffizi, first go to this door to pick up your tickets, then go to the other one to enter"), recommend (and book) restaurants, point out markets and tell you how much to bargain for, provide insider tips (how to get a great view without climbing 463 steps) etc. The room was large, came equipped with a flat screen tv and nice laptop, had a safe, and even included a sound masking device in case it got noisy (we were right near reception and didn't have any problems with noise, but it was off season). The bathroom was modern, the bed large and firm. Their evening happy hour is yet another lovely, welcoming touch. We can definitely see how this one ranks #1 - the only folks we wouldn't recommend it for are those who have problems with steps.

Just imagine this: Florence in January, cold wind from the mountains in narrow, shadowed medieval streets, you are tired after visiting museums and churches. And there is Davanzatti Hotel welcoming you at the end of the long day.
Very nice hotel indeed !!! Absolutely worth recommending. Nice, comunicative, helpful and excellent English speaker Fabrizzio at the reception. Few rooms - you feel like at home. Cosy and stylish Florentine decor. Quiet place despite the location in very heart of old center of the town with 5 min walking distance from the Uffizi Gallery. Spacious room. Free internet access, laptop, dvd player, good choice of free films at the reception.
The only downs are some steps you will have to climb to reach the elevator ( but remember that staff is willing to help you with the luggage - just ring the bell ) and we would love to see more fruits at breakfast and fresh squized orange juice instead of packed juice from concentrate which doesn't fit the standard.
Nevertheless Davanzatti Hotel is a place to stay !!!
