“Lovely Hotel”

Really pretty room with fresco style ceiling, very clean, air con, fully kitted out bathroom with fab shower. We were told when we arrived that breakfast would be included, which was a nice surprise.

The hotel is approximately 15-20 minutes walk from the centre of Florence, but it's a very scenic walk along the river with a great view of the city.

If I came back to Florence, I would definitely consider staying here again as it was really good value for money.

Great location and very friendly helpful staff. The breakfast was good and the room (ground floor) very modern, clean and comfortable including air conditioning - which you definitely need. We were glad we had booked the parking as the garage area is quite small. You have to negotiate quite a steep slope to access the parking but we managed. For those who can walk it is a pleaant walk across the river to the centre of Florence, but for those less mobile the nearby bus is great. Restaurants in the centre are expensive, but eat nearby with the locals and the food is better and half the price. The Trattoria di Sordo was a great experience; menu only in Italian; they spoke little English but laughed a lot; atmosphere great; good, fresh food; cheap.

Room Tip: There is no lift, so if stairs are an issue ask for a ground floor room.

First and foremost - this is a nicely decorated, modern, clean hotel. Our room was spacious and bright. Our bathroom was newly installed and very clean. Unfortunately our experience was a negative one, due to poor customer service and unhelpful staff. I emailed the hotel ahead of time for advice on car-parking. I received a 1-line reply stating "Our car park is not available for the dates of your stay". I had to email back, again requesting advice on public car-parking near the hotel - something that should have been explained in their first unhelpful email. On arrival, we discovered that the air conditioning in our room was broken - no alternative was provided. The female receptionist explained that she did not have a fan, but that the night staff would bring a fan for us. This didn't happen, and as a result we had a very uncomfortable first night. We were due to go on a trip to Cinque Terre at 07:00am the next morning, and tried to pre-book a taxi to the train station the night before. The female receptionist told us we didn't need to book, just request a taxi in the morning and it would be there in 2 minutes. At 06:30am we requested a taxi - the male receptionist made 1 phonecall, told us there were no taxi's available, then went about his business! What?? - we had to be at the train station in 30 minutes for a very expensive pre-booked trip!! It was only when we asked the receptionist to phone ANOTHER taxi service that we finally got a taxi. Unbelievable. After two uncomfortable nights with no air conditioning and no fan, we finally got a fan for our third night. Too little too late. This is the first negative review I've written on TripAdvisor, and I'm disappointed that I feel obliged to do so. As an alternative, try Hotel Dali (located beside the Duomo) - similar price and a more personal experience.

Room Tip: Please ensure that the air conditioning has been repaired in Room 10 and/or a fan is available.

For the low cost, this is by far the best hotel around ive booked. The staff friendly and the hotel is really clean. Simply well spent cash. From the train station it is very near and costs around 10 euros to get here. That's good considering the season and traffic

Listed as a two star - we wouldn't be surprised if it was upgraded this year. Spent 4 nights there this summer with my girlfriend and were provided with a newly, beautifully decorated room with modern shower/toilet. Clean, air conditioned, and comfortable bed. Staff were lovely and friendly - could speak excellent english (our italian is poor) and could help us with anything we needed. Roughly 15 min walk along the river to the centre of florence which we walked every day several times (there is a bus though for approx 1 euro). Breakfast provided for additional 5 Euros - decent - coffee, croissants, cakes, toast, cerals (great value for 5 Euro and a LOT cheaper than you can get an equivalent breakfast for in Florence). When I return to florence I know exactly where I will be staying!

We stayed here for 3 nights in July as part of our holiday visiting Pisa and Rome also. We booked directly with the hotel after finding that their rate was more flexible and cheaper then the likes of booking.com etc...

Communication from the hotel was excellent as were instructions on finding the hotel. It couldn't be easier. The D line bus from the termini ends a few meters from the hotel. The hotel is in a residential area of Firenze which I enjoyed, especially a way of escaping the tourist crowd in the evening. It is also ideally located for Piazzale Michelangelo. The centre of Firenze can be reached by foot in around 20 minutes via a pleasant stroll along the river. Ponte Vecchia is around 25 minutes by foot.

Upon our arrival, the receptionist immediately sussed who we were and very pleasantly checked us in. To our surprise, we were also informed that breakfast would be included. Our twin room was located on the 3rd floor per my request. Upon reaching it I was very pleased with the decor and by how modern it was. The bathroom was perfectly sized with a large rain shower cubicle and excellent water pressure. An issue with the air conditioning later that evening was quickly resolved and we moved to another room without issue which was slightly larger and equally and tastefully decorated and furnished however also incorporating a beautiful mural on the ceiling.

Breakfast in the morning was a simple but perfectly adequate spread of continental options and good coffee.

Overall I'd highly recommend the Hotel Ferrucci for it's warm, helpful staff, beautiful and comfortable rooms and overall excellent value for money; our rate equalled around £30pppn.

Room Tip: A second floor room would be ideal although note that no lift is available.
