This hotel is within walking distance from almost everywhere in Florence. The rooms were very clean and the beds comfortable. Our room was a little on the small side and our private bathroom was not ensuite We were travelling with two other couples and both of their rooms were larger and did have ensuite. There was no air conditioning, but there was a huge window looking into a lovely courtyard with a garden and the room had a decent fan. (Might be warm in the middle of the summer but was okay at the end of September.) We found the room nice and quiet even though you are right in the middle of the city. You feel secure staying here. You needed to be buzzed in and they have closed circuit t.v. so by the time you get to the top of the stairs someone is there to hand you your room key. There is a 1 a.m. curfew but that was more than late enough for us. The value is excellent. We found Florence very expensive, but the Canada was a big exception here. We had read revues before booking and a number of them talked about all the stairs. We had just come from Cinque Terre, trust me these stairs aren't that bad.
