We very much enjoyed our stay at this lovely hotel. The window of our simple but spacious and comfortable room overlooked a quiet courtyard with some greenery, all seemingly presided over by the commanding statue of a dog. We appreciated having good air conditioning, a safe, mini-fridge, and free wi-fi access, and the elevator made a big difference—especially if you have much luggage. Miriam, Robert, and their daughter Priscilla were welcoming and wonderful hosts in every way! They provided directions, made reservations at restaurants and museums (essential for avoiding long lines to see David and the Uffizi!), and offered very useful advice about train reservations. For many years the hotel has been run by Miriam’s family, and their devotion to it is inspiring and heartwarming. The breakfast selection is smaller than we had in other places, but the cappuccino was excellent. The hotel is nicely located within walking distance of many important sites; a tourist information office with daily schedules is just across the street, and a travel agency, a few doors away.

A very convieniently located hotel, seconds from the Duomo and Accademia Gallery. Our room was spacious, clean and tastefully decorated with windows and a Juliette balcony overlooking a closed courtyard/car park. We could see to dome of the Duomo peeking over
the rooftops. Despite being on a relatively busy street the hotel is very quiet. Service was excellent; reception staff offered advice and help whenever we needed it and our
room was serviced daily. Breakfast was basic (cereal, croissants, bread rolls) - room for improvement, but adequate. Overall I'd definitely recommend this hotel - relatively good value for Florence I think.

Good room, great people work there, very clean. We had a nice pation off our room with a view of the duomo. I would stay there again in a second.

Only complaint would be that the breakfast wasn't very good. Everything else was great.

Perfect location very near the Duomo, yet the rooms are quiet at night. We love the antique elevator with the grill. Upon arrival at reception you will be warmly greeted and Miriam, Robert and David will be eager to help with anything you need. The rooms have been renovated since the last time we were there, and everything is quite tastefully decorated. There is a feeling of spaciousness all the way through, perhaps due to the high ceilings--do check out those frescoes! We loved our room and the large windows with shutters, a very comfortable bathroom and of course the mini-fridge is a plus. Best of all is Miriam herself--the epitome of graciousness, who took the time to chat with us in Italian (although she also speaks perfect English) and made us feel special despite our limited vocabulary. She also arranged for reservations ahead of time at the Uffizi and the Boboli Gardens--we got a reservation number, and then we were able to pay for our tickets at a different desk from the one where people were waiting in long lines. This really helped, and it is just an example of the excellent service she provides. Don't miss Hotel Europa--it makes a beautiful city even better!

Great location, excellent staff and a nice large room. We were an easy walk to everything we wanted to do and had a wonderful time in what was our favorite city in Italy. we would definitely stay here again on a return to Florence.

Hotel Europa is an an excellent location, just down the street from the Duomo, blocks away from the street market and central market, and steps away from the Accademia Museum. Robert and Miriam were wonderful hosts: friendly, helpful, and available. The rooms are large and beautifully appointed. We couldn't have been happier and would definitely stay there again.

My husband and I stayed at Hotel Europa in Florence, Italy this May. We can highly recommend this hotel based on its excellent price, its location just up the street from the Duomo and near the Accademia, and for its owners, Miriam and Robert. Miriam and Robert gave us excellent travel advice and made our stay very pleasant. If you have a few extra Euros book the room with the terrace and watch the light change on the Duomo dome. Enjoy!
