“A Very Nice Place”
Reviewed 1 December 2013

This is a family run operation and you will be welcomed as if you were part of the family. We recently spent four nights in Florence and enjoyed the convenience, cleanliness, comfort and breakfast at this hotel. The hotel is located on Via Covour which is wide, clean street within easy walking distance to all the tourist sites. My wife and I were in one room, my sister in another. The facilities and furniture were modern and comfortable. Breakfast was excellent with all the choices one would want in a European hotel.

It is an easy fifteen minute walk from the train station to the hotel or a fifteen euro cab ride.

One negative and word of advice. We were there in November and my sister opted to sleep the first night with the window open. She woke up with numberous mosquito bites on the exposed parts of her body. Sleep with the window closed. Given that advise, you will enjoy your stay

Room Tip: Get there early and get the best choice of room and close the window.

We ended up booking this room the night of, and it was a great choice. The rooms were extremely clean, the staff was friendly and the breakfast was great. There was a safe in the room and the room felt open and comfortable. The only problem was that the WiFi didn't work in our room. The location is central to the train station and main Florence attractions. We walked to the station with our bags in ten minutes.

We stayed at the Hotel Europa in September 2013. Location is very central to the sites in Florence. The hotel itself is very old and we chose to walk up 2 floors rather than take the 4' by 4' old cage lift. The room was very clean and the breakfast good. In addition to breads and cheese and meat, there was also hard boiled eggs.

We booked this hotel for a one-night stay in Florence based on all the terrific reviews. It did not disappoint! Modest but very clean, with very comfortable (very firm) beds, an outstanding breakfast and delightful, helpful owners. We look forward to a return visit and a much longer stay next time.

Room Tip: The teeny tiny elevator may require two trips if you have a lot of luggage. The stairs are best for...

We traveled to Florence to visit our son while he was studying abroad. We booked Hotel Europa mainly because the staff spoke English, but now that we have stayed there, I highly recommend this hotel because of Robert and Miriam, the owners. They made our stay so much more enjoyable because they were very helpful, with everything from making reservations for us for tourist sites to visitor suggestions. They even offered help if our son ever needed it while he was studying in Florence. The hotel is near the center of Florence and convenient to everything.

In Florence, we stayed at the Hotel Europa on Via Cavour, located walking distance between San Marco Plaza / Academmia with statue of David to the north, and the Duomo and Uffizi museum to the south. We boarded a 4’ by 4’ old cage elevator (two passengers and two suitcases can just squeeze in) to reception on the second floor, where we met the owner, Miriam. She and her husband Robert are the most pleasant of hosts, fluent in several languages, informative regarding the city sights, and ensuring our stay in Florence would be one to remember. Our room was small but adequate, with a window opening to a courtyard and a view of the Basilica Dome, and set back away from the traffic noise of the busy street. Breakfast is included and provided by Miriam and two assistants, with delicious coffee brewed from an espresso machine. It was Miriam who insisted that we make time to walk past the Uffizi and across the river bridge to the Michelangelo Plaza, a high point with a beautiful view of the entire Florence skyline. Our stay WAS one to remember.

Our flight arrived pretty late and Miriam was so nice about waiting around for us. She even showed us around our room and show us sites on a map. Her and her charming hotel helped make our trip to Florence wonderful. Our room was huge and our private balcony had a grand view of the garden courtyard and the duomo. We spent most of our time in on room on the homey balcony. The hotel is just a couple blocks from el duomo, but it is pretty easy to walk to everything anyway since Florence is a pretty small city. The breakfast is complimentary, the espresso was clutch for all of the serious site-seeing. I will stay here on my next trip to Florence.
