The location was perfect, very close to the main square (two blocks), yet far enough to be quiet at night; walking distance to just about everything of interest, including the train station. Excellent service, very friendly, family owned; the owners tended the desk frequently. The room was very clean and larger than expected; bathroom was modern, probably recently renovated; loved the really strong water pressure in the shower. Reasonably priced. Beds were fairly hard (you may like or dislike this); mattress was probably newish. Average breakfast. The only cons were very minor: the elevator was tiny (hard to get in with luggage, barely fit 3 people), and the shower stall in the bathroom was quite small as well.
Overall, definitely highly recommended.

Hotel Europa was very nice. the staff was very helpful and kind. The room was larger than expected and newly refurbished.. It was everything that was promised and we ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT. The location can't be beat, 2 blocks to the Duomo, 5 blocks to train station.
We will definitely return on our next visit. Thank you Miriam and Robert---gracious hosts

The day before traveling to Florence my friend and I didn't have accommodations, so we went on tripadvisor and Hotel Europa got the best reviews and had availability, so we booked! I didn't know what to expect, but the people who wrote the reviews were correct. This place is great. Perfect location for all the sites. It was amazing walking to the hotel and seeing the Duomo right around the corner. The hotel is family run. There is a nice light breakfast of warm break, a pastry, good coffee, and fruit. The bathrooms and rooms were clean and maybe it was because we were traveling during the beginning of June, but there weren't that many people at the hotel so we had all the common areas to ourselves. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

A friend recommended this hotel after staying there several times herself, and I was not disappointed. Perfect location – can walk to the most popular spots, very clean, and very nice owners. My room was quite big, though the shower stall small. Breakfast was very simple, but I wanted to save my calories for pasta anyway! Consider a cooking class (outside the hotel) if you’re looking for something to do. “David” is minutes away, and well, well worth it. Zsa Zsa for dinner was fantastic! Free wireless (though slow for me).

When you are in a country that you are unfamiliar with the language, it is a relief to be with people who are so helpful. Mariam and her husband helped us to find an easier way to get train tickets to Venice and from there to Rome and to change hotel accommodations in Venice. We were always welcomed with a warm greeting by the people at the desk, the cleaning staff, and the kind lady who served us breakfast each morning. Clearly the people working here liked their job and the people who visited. The cleanliness and the warmth showed that they all took pride in their work and wanted their guests stay in Florence to be a pleasant experience. Thanks for making our stay in Florence a great memory.
My only suggestion for improvement would be for fluffier pillows. It was a comfortable, economical room which is what we wanted. The location was great as we could wlak to everything.
