The hotel is about 10 minutes walk from Firenze Santa Maria Novella Station, which is very handy if you arrive by train. The hotel is on one of the central streets but it is surprisingly quiet inside. Miriam, Robert, and their staff are all very helpful and make you feel at home.
There's free WiFi internet available. It wasn't in the room but very good in reception or breakfast area.
I had to print some train tickets and Miriam did this for me.
Breakfast is very basic, consisting of freshly brewed espresso or cappuccino, tea, cereal, biscuits, hard-boiled eggs, juice, pastries. There's also a fridge with water, soft drinks and beer for you to buy at any time of the day. Coffee and tea are also available to purchase from the reception. There's no kettle or cups, etc in the room, but there's a small bar fridge.
We stayed in room 25, The room is of a good size. which was a triple room, with a king bed and a single bed. We had a free upgrade. Air conditioner was great and relieved the heat quite fast. The bathroom was also large, with a shower and bidet. Shampoo and shower gel are provided. Towels are good and will be changed on request. The bathroom vent is not powerful enough.
There's no iron and ironing board for use and hotel staff suggest to use laundry nearby.
They will happily lend you cutlery and crockery if needed. We arrived late at night and they ordered some pizza for us as we were too tired to go out for dinner.
There're lots of places to eat nearby.
The hotel is about 3 minutes from Galleria Academia, Duomo and about 10 minutes from Uffizi.
The city is safe.
Will definitely stay here again.
PS. Miriam loves chocolates! :o)

I stayed as a single woman at the Hotel Europa for an entire week. Miriam, Robert and Maria were all friendly and helpful any time of the day or night. I felt like I was returning home each day after perusing all the art galleries of Florence. The air-conditioner was a blessing because July is hot. This hotel is quiet and centrally located. I could walk almost anywhere within 20 minutes. I would return to Hotel Europa once again if I was blessed enough to make a return trip.

I stayed here with my mother, aunt and cousin for 2 nights. We had room #121 which was nice and spacious with a high ceiling. The room had a king bed with two twins on each side. The window had nice shutters that kept the early morning light out. The bathroom was spacious and had a full tub and shower, sink, bidet and toilet with a window. The room was well maintained and slept four adults comfortably. There was a small fridge but we did not use it. When you enter the building from the street you go up to floor 2 (that's the 3rd floor in the U.S.) where the check in and breakfast room are. Our room was on floor one. You are given both a room key and one for the exterior door and asked to keep it locked at night. The is an elevator which we just used to send up one person with our luggage because it is so small. The breakfast was a simple Italian breakfast on pastries, yogurt and fruit. The only problem we had was with dirty tile floors in the room. We mentioned it to the front desk and they apologized and said that there were teens in the rooms last week who spilled soda. They said it would get cleaned but that did not happen. We did not go sock or barefooted in the room because we would be covered in stickiness, lint and dirt. The location was excellent with the historic area at your doorstep. I enjoyed the sitting room we had on floor 2 that had a beautiful ceiling of frescoes and a large fridge with a freezer that appeared to be for public use. Internet in the room came and went but it was free. We drove right up to the hotel and someone took the car and parked it for us during the 2 nights we stayed in Florence. Parking is free, which is unusual for a city. I would certainly stay here again.

We thank these clients for their comment and we apologize for the delay in responding to their review by giving our point of view.
First we would like to say that cleaniness is our main priority and you can tell from other clients review that is appreciated from all our guests and tripadvisor members.
The problem with the spilled soda left from the a group of teen students who slept in these clients room the night before (not "last the week" , as the client reported ) , was addressed however not well enough. As we all know soda and other sticky liquids can take few attempts to get it all out , we apologized to the clients and cleaned it . We thought the problem was solved but unfortunately it left a mark on floor. Authentic "cotto" tiles are beautiful and give a very warm look to the room but can be difficult to clean at times , red wine, vary types of soda, etc . can take as we said more than one time to get it all out. Please note that "dirty tiles floor" mentioned by the guest is a reference to the spilled soda only and not the maintenance of the room , which in their own comment they mentioned "was well maintained". Therefore we find the words such as lint and dirt not only quite offensive but also misleading. On the other hand we are happy to know that this family would certainly stay with us again .It is important to point out that although we do not charge commission for the use of our local garage, parking is absolutely not free especially during the day in Florence and fees are paid directly to the garage.

The owners are very friendly, recommending the places to eat and visit. The location is great with most of the amenities and sights within walking distance. We took the family room and it was huge. The only drawback was the lift (too small, can only fix in one luggage and 1 person) and the mosquitoes (maybe because the aircon was not really working - the room was not that cool).

The location was perfect, very close to the main square (two blocks), yet far enough to be quiet at night; walking distance to just about everything of interest, including the train station. Excellent service, very friendly, family owned; the owners tended the desk frequently. The room was very clean and larger than expected; bathroom was modern, probably recently renovated; loved the really strong water pressure in the shower. Reasonably priced. Beds were fairly hard (you may like or dislike this); mattress was probably newish. Average breakfast. The only cons were very minor: the elevator was tiny (hard to get in with luggage, barely fit 3 people), and the shower stall in the bathroom was quite small as well.
Overall, definitely highly recommended.

Hotel Europa was very nice. the staff was very helpful and kind. The room was larger than expected and newly refurbished.. It was everything that was promised and we ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT. The location can't be beat, 2 blocks to the Duomo, 5 blocks to train station.
We will definitely return on our next visit. Thank you Miriam and Robert---gracious hosts

The day before traveling to Florence my friend and I didn't have accommodations, so we went on tripadvisor and Hotel Europa got the best reviews and had availability, so we booked! I didn't know what to expect, but the people who wrote the reviews were correct. This place is great. Perfect location for all the sites. It was amazing walking to the hotel and seeing the Duomo right around the corner. The hotel is family run. There is a nice light breakfast of warm break, a pastry, good coffee, and fruit. The bathrooms and rooms were clean and maybe it was because we were traveling during the beginning of June, but there weren't that many people at the hotel so we had all the common areas to ourselves. I would definitely recommend this hotel.
