I liked it. When booking this kind of hotel one has a certain amount of trepidation, the likelihood that it will be a dump (at this price) is quite high. However, my fears were relieved when I entered. It is not a high end property so expect to compromise on a few things, such as the shower. Nevertheless you get what you pay for and taken as a whole it represents good value for money.

The real selling point is the location. It is bang in the centre of town near the S.M. Novello. From here you can walk anywhere and in a city like Florence that is a great bonus.

The staff are also nice and helpfull.

I really liked this hotel. Its location is very central and you can walk everywhere. Having my car parked in the hotel courtyard was a great bonus. It was also easy to reach the place as it is just next to the railway station.

The hotel is welcoming, the beds were OK and the service very helpful. The room was clean and comfortable. The only minus goes to the size of the bathroom - it is tiny!
I will definitely stay there again if back to Florence.

I had an experience similar to the previous post. The staff was very friendly and helpful, and the hotel was very clean. The shower was tiny, but we had sliding doors, it was almost impossible to raise my arms the wash my hair and I am not a large person. The beds and pillows were very uncomfortable. There was an unpleasant smell in the room, like it used to be a smoking room. It's a very loud area and the street noise was too much even with thick windows.

We were very pleased with the staff at the Hotel Vasari, but unfortunately the accommodations were not pleasant.

My main complaint is the shower. The shower was so small, that the curtain stuck to you the entire time. Our room also smelled musty and damp. Opening the windows did not help.

It may have just been our specific room. I do love the Renaissance theme of the hotel. Each rooms door is a different painting, and each room is decorated with prints of famous paintings as well.

Location is also great if you are traveling by train within Italy. We will probably try and stay somewhere else if we return however.

The location (5mins to Santa Maria Novella train station and 10mins to city centre) and the cost of the hotel was why we chose it, however I wouldnt have accepted a 'dump' and was pleased that we didnt get one!

The rooms were comfortable - nothing special, but clean and good value. The staff were accomodating and the breakfast was continental and plentiful.

There are a few cafe bars nearby and we also ate at a nice restaurant within 5mins walk - all in all a goo choice!
