“A perfect place to stay”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 July 2013

Together with my husband and two children (aged 7 and 9) we recently spent four magical days as guests at Villa Jacopone. From the moment we arrived until the moment we left everything about this place was perfect.
Viviana and Paolo made us feel as if we were personal friends come to stay in their gorgeous home.
We had a very spacious apartment with a large bathroom, dressing room, large double bedroom and a sitting room with a beautiful leather sofa that converted into a very comfortable double bed with the easiest mechanism we have ever encountered!!
The apartment was spotless, extremely comfortable and very well appointed. The view of the Duomo and the heart of Florence as we sat on our balcony having breakfast each day was magnificent. Viviana provided a vast array of breakfast foods in our well designed little kitchen alcove and these were supplemented with delicious cupcakes and snacks each day.
There was even a bottle of her home made limoncello!!!
The swimming pool was one of the best we have seen even in many hotels in Europe. Surrounded by lawns, flower beds and fragrant banks of lavender and plenty of umbrellas and deck chairs it was a great place to relax whilst continuing to enjoy the extraordinary view of Florence.
The house is at the end of a very narrow lane but it is easy enough to find and negotiate. Walking back down the lane (about 200m) there is the bus stop with regular buses that go to piazza San Marco in the city centre. (line 7).
The journey takes about fifteen minutes. In the other direction the bus goes up the hill to Fiesole which is quite close , you can then take a scenic and downhill(!!) stroll back to the Villa.
There are restaurants which can be reached on foot or with a short drive and Viviana is so helpful with suggestions and advice.
The apartment is cleaned everyday which is most unusual for this type of accommodation and there was an endless supply of fresh towels . The surrounds, verandahs, garage and poolside were all immaculate at all times. This quiet, relaxing oasis is a dream come true after a hot busy day dealing with the crowds in Florence.
We have been to Florence many times but we would never stay anywhere else but Villa Jacopone from now on.The warmth and generosity of Viviana and Paolo is unparalleled, from the first email we sent to our departure when Viviana provided a cake for the children to have on their journey .
This is perfect holiday accommodation, mille grazie Viviana e Paolo, a presto!!!!

dear guest, who with his whole family came to spend some of holiday in Florence, a warm thank you for your review highly descriptive and accurate. You touched the most important points that characterize Villa Jacopone, the proximity to downtown, the tranquility, services, leisure time, the rooms and their comfort, the crystal clear swimming pool and finally I left the breakfast. Ours was a very thought-out, we have another structure in Tuscany near the sea where breakfast is served in the dining room, with set times, flexibility was not enough, guests had to get up too soon! !! And then our decision to leave everything needed for a hearty breakfast in the suite to be consumed at the right time, on the terrace on the tables available and admire Florence and its monuments. Decision was never so much appreciated, and comments can be read on FB.
It was a pleasure to meet your family, children who have left a void, but surely ate the cake, but I have eaten all the candy you gave me. I hope to meet you again and also a warm greeting from my husband, a hug viviana

This is a wonderful place. The apartment was great: cool, quiet, and comfortable. There is a splendid view of Florence from the terrace. Viviana was so helpful and kind. My sister and brother-in-law were staying elsewhere in Florence and Viviana was very accommodating to their frequent visits. I will always remember sitting on the terrace with them watching the sun set over Florence and enjoying the pasta and extraordinary homemade pesto sauce Viviana shared.
A short walk either up or down the hill will take you to several nice eateries.
There is a convenient bus stop nearby for a bus that will take you to San Marco.
If ever I am fortunate enought to return to Florence I would stay nowhere else.

Villa Jacopone is a gorgeous property located just outside of Florence. Upon our arrival, we were greeted warmly by Viviana, the owner, and made to feel at home. The apartment itself is not only functional but beautiful. During our stay, our expectations were exceeded in every way possible. All of our needs were met by Viviana who is extremely accommodating. We especially appreciated all of the foods and snacks that were stocked and replenished daily. The location of the villa is quite convenient, a short 10 min bus ride to the city centre and major attractions. It was nice to be short distance away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Villa Jacopone felt like an oasis of sorts. Overall, we absolutely loved our stay at Villa Jacopone and would return in a heartbeat not only for the property itself but for the unparalleled hospitality of Viviana.

We opted to stay at Villa Jacopone after reading the glowing reviews on Trip Advisor. With so much praise for the hotel, we were looking forward to our stay and it's safe to say we weren't left disappointed as Viviana (the property owner) and the venue surpassed all expectations! The apartment was beautiful - bright, spacious and spotlessly clean with the most incredible views over Florence. We were made to feel extremely welcome and at home as soon as we arrived and throughout our stay. Viviana gave plenty of personal recommendations of where to go, what to see, places to eat etc. Plus she also made sure that the apartment was well stocked with food and drinks throughout our stay. We couldn't have wanted for anything more. The villa is perfectly located - just a short 10 minute bus ride into Florence to see all of the major sights and equally close to Fiesole where you'll also find some lovely restaurants. We can't recommend this place enough and will certainly stay again when we are next in Florence.

We (2 adults and 2 kids (11 and 7)) had a wonderful stay in Villa Jacopone.

The villa is beautiful, the apartments are spacious and well equipped. Viviana pays a lot of attention to all details and fulfills all kind of wishes and gives the stay a very personal touch. Every day Viviana stocked up the kitchen for a delicious breakfast, which we enjoyed on the balcony. The view from the balcony or from the garden is breathtaking. Also, to have a swim in the pool and to enjoy a glass of wine on the balcony in the evening with the wonderful view made our stay very relaxing.
The villa is very quiet, yet it is just a 5 min walk to the bus station, where buses run to San Marco every 15 minutes, so it is very well connected to the city centre. At the bus station is a highly recommendable enoteca ("enoteca 7 rosso") with very good food, a great selection of wines and excellent service.
We are passionate travellers all across the globe, our stay in Villa Jacopone was one of our best experiences. We will definitely come back.

Located just outside of Florence, halfway up the hill to Fiesole. Viviana, the proprietor greeted us warmly, and showed us to the garage. The apartment we had was lovely, cozy, clean, comfortable and well-appointed. A good bathroom, large bedroom and lounge with kitchenette and a fridge and pantry stocked with all kinds of goodies - beer/wine, cheese/salami, bread and coffee/tea, etc. Everything you want for your own in-room breakfast or light snack in the evening. The apartment's balcony overlooks a classic Florentine city scape - like in the movies!
Viviana could not have been more helpful or friendly. You can come and go as you please, and she explains everything to you, and then you go about your business as you wish. When you come home from a day in Florence, you find your fridge re-stocked with cakes, fresh cheese, whatever surprise Viviana has in store for you. It was too early to use the pool, but it too looked lovely. Nothing you needed was missing. If you drive there, take a small car, as the road leading to the Villa is narrow and lined with tall stone walls, and you need to sneak the car into the garage. Wee had a Fiat 500 which was ideal.
The place was really like something out of a novel or movie. Highly recommended!

Room Tip: Just contact Viviana and she and you can discuss your needs and find the best place for you.

My fiance and I stayed here for 2 nights over Easter Break. We wanted a place which was close to the city of Florence but away from the hustle and bustle and this was perfect. The owner Viviana gave us directions over the phone because our GPS had trouble finding the place, then she showed us around, even giving us maps and showing us where to park (you can get into the city by bus, too).
The little apartment was filled with breakfast food and drinks. We even got homemade limoncello to take back home with us! The apartment was cleaned impeccably while we were out sightseeing. It was so nice there, though, we almost didn't want to leave! The views out or windows and from our balcony were amazing.
The only thing that we thought might be missing were some more books for leisurely reading.
Villa Jacopone was a good deal, and I wouldn't hesitate to go back again.
