“Average Stay”
Reviewed 6 August 2014

I would rate the entire stay. At our arrival the reception was warm. The receptionist took us all the way to our room. the room was spacious , quite ,clean and the bed mattress was actually excellent. Breakfast was barely average as most European hotels. I will have to disagree with the concierge great reviews on previous rationings since I got swindled on a 200 euro two person seafood restaurant ( no wine included) recommended by the concierge. Furthermore, the concierge recommended which was overcrowded. One last thing, there was an intermittent sewage coming from the sink which would spread in the room. However, maybe I just was unlucky with the concierge and plumbing issue and it was a very good stay.

We arrived by train from Venice (very comfortable!) and it was an easy walk to the hotel. We were very happy with our duplex room (travelling with 2 teenage boys) which had a double bed (sleeping sofa) and small bathroom downstairs and double bed and master bathroom upstairs. Hotel is only 2 years old and we enjoyed the clean and modern feel in the old surroundings. Great to have the free minibar. That was really appreciated We used the gym which we enjoyed. Breakfast was enjoyable with nice food. We loved being so close to every where. The hotel is in a very central location. You could indeed hear the noise from the street at night but this wasn't a problem for us. Staff we re very helpful and kind. We had only two nights but could have easily stayed longer! Thank you for your great hospitality and a very enjoyable stay.

Spent 4 nights at Firenze Number Nine last week. Overall it was a great choice. Good location near Duomo. Walking distance to all the sights. Hotel was modern, clean, very well managed. The concierge (Allesandro) was exceptional offering us some great off the beaten path restaurant choices as well as helping with our other activities. He went out of his way to help with whatever we needed.
The room was a good size by European standards. The bathroom was very nice with an excellent shower.
I am a seasoned traveler with high expectations and would strongly recommend this hotel.

Our family of four required two rooms here and we were thrilled to find that both rooms were upgraded when we arrived. The rooms were great-clean, nice amenities (although byo conditioner), and surprisingly spacious. What really stood out for us, was the people. They were always especially friendly and even offered to loan us umbrellas when there was an unexpected downpour. We met one of the owners, "Pia" one night in the lobby bar, and she offered up some wonderful suggestions for fun things that were off the beaten path and that our teenagers would enjoy. Those side trips ended up being the highlight of our entire vacation. There is a gym attached with classes available for hotel guests and also a nice breakfast was included with our stay.

My wife and I were on our honeymoon and enjoyed our time at this hotel greatly. The concierge graciously welcomed us after our long journey from Rome and immediately took care of our bags and asked us if we wanted anything to drink. The room was spotless and the location was impeccable to all of the beautiful sites in and around the area. They were more than happy to recommend restaurants in the area at different price points and made reservations for us. Our room was well-appointed and modern, with a small mini-fridge. I would highly recommend this hotel for its service, location, and cleanliness.

Stayed at this hotel in June 2014 with my fiancee for 3 nights

The positive:
- let me start out by saying this is one of the best hotels I have ever stayed at (I travel extensively with work - and try to take leisure travels 2-3 times pr year = have stayed at many hotels in the last 8-9 years)
- Superb service (great tips on restaurants, very helpful with luggage etc)
- superb location (close to everything!!)
- good mattress (I have a bad back = a good bed is KING!!)
- nice with the gym and the spa (used it every day)
- good restaurant (only had breakfast there but very good with a solid selection)

The less positive:
- There was a bit of noise from the street at night, but we still managed to sleep (in the wonderful bed). So if you are a light sleeper either ask for a room facing away from the street or they have ear plugs in the reception - ask for some - and sweet dreams..
- getting there was a hassle though.. It took literally hours as the police had blocked off a few streets = the route indicated on the hotel web site couldnt be used.. and our GPS constantly lost signal in the narrow street of down town Firenze.. In addition we arrived in Firenze in the middle of the day - and the streets were packed with tourists (Dont you just hate them? ;-) not too eager to get out of the way of a increasingly frantic fellow tourist driving in a rented car.. BUT we eventually got there.. and thoroughly enjoyed our stay there..

Room Tip: If light sleeper - get street facing away from the street

I spent 3 nights in this wonderful hotel, and was very satisfied with its service through the stay. Upon arrival, we were given a room upgrade So my mom and I got to stay in the suite! The room was immaculately clean, and the whole staff were very kind and were more than willing to help. Hotel's location was also great since most of the tourist sights are reachable by walking. Although I didn't spend any time in the gym or the spa, I was surprised by its outstanding facilities. Among the hotels I've ever stayed, this hotel was the greatest, bar none. I am planning to take another trip to Italy next year and am definitely going to stay here again. Thanks again, Firenze Number Nine :)
