“Unique fillings, incredible bread”
Reviewed 11 June 2014

Amazing sandwiches made with homemade spreads and unique meats and cheeses.

If you are in Florence more than a couple days I'm sure you'll come back, we did. Much much better than some of the other stuff Ive seen and tried around the area.

You can get your sandwich made on a bun (panino) or foccacia bread (sciacciata)- go for the sciaccata! They are pricier but HUGE and grilled but not overly filling, the foccaccia bread they are made on is delectable, crispy and soft.

The owners are sweet, friendly and very informative, obviously very passionate about what they do (I spoke to them in Italian).

Tried the Viareggino- which seemed a bit out there as it consists of 'warm seafood salad' and sundried tomato paste, but it was very good, fresh seafood which had a perfect texture, sundried tomato paste was spot on tangy yum.

The Pientino (aged goats cheese and zucchini cream) was truly one of the best sandwiches I've ever had, simple and subtle but delicious.

Oh man I want another one now.

“Not the average street sandwich”
Reviewed 11 June 2014 via mobile

Homemade sauces, gourmet meats, best sandwich I have had in a while. Grossetano was great. incredible sandwiches. Not premade sandwiches in a window... Which are actually good in Florence too! #hiddengem

“Forget the pizza - Get this!”
Reviewed 1 June 2014

It is that good! And I mean the schiacciata, the sandwich made with foccacia. Wow! The owners are very helpful, speak very good English, and make it easy. It's a small menu anyway...Just pick something that sounds good, or make your own combo. And all for E5...What a deal, and I dont think it can be beat. One of the tastiest sandwiches we've ever had anywhere. And when you're done, if you need dessert, just keep walking down the street (away from Piazza Repubblica) until you come to Vestri, where you'll find some of the best chocolate and gelato in the city. It will be on the same (right) side of the street as Pane e Toscana. Together, for about E8 total, it might be your best meal of the trip......

“Fresh and delicious”
Reviewed 1 June 2014 via mobile

We went here for lunch and had two large panini. The large cost 4.5 euro and the small 3.5 euro . Well worth the price ( there is another excellent sandwich shop down the street called 'Passa Guai' which is cheaper and just as good)

“Fresh. Tasty. Delish!”
Reviewed 29 May 2014 via mobile

We went here 3 times during our stay in Florence. Wonderful people here. The sandwiches are made to order in front of you. Lovely selection of meats which are all displayed as well as the lovely veges and sauces.

They have now changed their menu to their summer menu which I've attached here. Their new menus will come in English soon to make it easier to choose from.

We tried the Kebab Del chianti, Pisano, sammiamatese, apuamo. All I can say delish and fresh sandwiches. Go the schiacciata (focaccia) for a more substantial meal.

Highly recommended!
