“Tasty, good value”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 May 2014 via mobile

Had lunch with gf. Around 5 to 6 euros for sandwich. Good chianti wine for 2.5 euros. I had the special dish, apparently pork tripe but tasted more like slow cooked pork. Delicious. Ordered second sandwich. Gf had beef with rocket and pecorino with balsamic dressing. She really enjoyed it. Good value. Not quite as good as the number one place but worth a stop.

“Note to self”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 May 2014

... if you want a light lunch and you're near the Duomo, come here. (You probably know that near the Duomo separating a tourist from his Euros has risen to an art form.) It was recommended by an Italian friend, and our group (him included) ate panini here. I think that's the specialty: sandwiches. I had a sausage sandwich and it was a delight. So was paying for it.

“Favorite experience/meal in Italy!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 May 2014

Dal Barone was the only place in our 8-day tour of Italy where we ate more than once. Not only was the food flawless--incredibly fresh and flavorful---the owner truly loves what he does and loves making delicious food. He was warm and friendly and was so excited to see us there a second time. He made some wonderful recommendations and told us all about his favorite meats and the precision and care with which he makes his food. He works very hard to create an authentically tasty meal whether you are a Florentine or a tourist. On top of that, it was probably the cheapest meal we had in Italy. The sandwiches were delicious and the atmosphere made me want to come back every single day.

“Amazing”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 May 2014

We were in Florence for two days and ate here twice. The food was incredible. We had one of the hamburgers and tried a few different sandwiches. Everything was excellent. In addition to the delicious food, the owner is one of the best people we met while in Italy. The first time we ate here he came and talked to us to make sure that we enjoyed everything. When we came back the second time he came out to greet us as if we were friends he hadn't seen in years. We asked for his recommendation and he was thrilled to tell us about his favorite menu items and just how much care he takes to make great food. Again, everything we had was excellent and this will be the first place we go the next time we are in Florence.

“Hamburger gourmand!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 April 2014 via mobile

Amazing and tiny place, nearby the Duomo. They offer not only a wide selection of panini and sandwich with top quality meat (e.g. Chianina and Cinta Senese) , but also traditional Lampredotto and some veggie dishes. Good wine. Friendly and polite, a taste of the best Italy .
