We stumbled upon this place while walking back from the Ponte Vecchio (bridge) to our hotel. We ended up going back the second night as we liked it so much.
The area comprises a fairly make shift bar which overlooks a sort of beach area down by the river. You can either sit in the shade of the trees or out in the sunshine.
Look this isn't a posh wine bar in a swanky setting. It has a make shift, rustic, bohemium feel which for me represents Florence at its best.
We had mohitos and aperol spritz which were made fresh and were cold and deliciously strong.
We went on a Thursday evening and apparently it is typical for bars to serve aperitivo with your drinks which is basically free food. We watched the chef make a spinach risotto from scratch which was then served round for free. It was the nicest risotto we had in Italy and we didn't pay a penny!
The bar is also a great place to watch the sun set over the river and the bridge. Very romantic and dramatic.
The bar staff were all super nice as well. By all accounts they worked out we were on honeymoon and made an extra effort with us. Even giving us a little apple shot when we left.
