I had very high expectations as this place was recommended by a friend. The salesman (not sure if he is one of the owners or not), Sam, was very friendly and quite the salesman. He guaranteed the quality of the distressed buffalo handbag I was interested in, making a point of telling me this partcular leather would wear very well, and told me that I would be getting a nice VAT tax return thus reducing the great deal he was giving me.
Well, I have yet to receive my VAT tax return 5 months later. I sent 2 e-mails to the company requesting information that would allow me to track down the return. Not knowing the VAT tax company AJ uses makes it impossible for me to do anything. I cannot tell you how put out I am that they refuse to even take the time to tell me their VAT company let alone give me my DOC # in order to receive the money owed to me.
If that was not bad enough, I have not been happy with the quality of the bag which I paid several hundred dollars for. After only 5 months of carrying it every so often, being very careful not to set it on the floor anywhere, the leather looks worn in spots and some of the raised areas of the distressed finish have torn off! The first time it happened was after having carried the bag less than a week! I even had feet put on it in order to try and avoid the wear I was beginning to notice.
I am unhappy to say this lovely showroom with a lot of beautiful leather is not a good deal at all. There are way too many leather shops in Florence to risk going to AJ.
