The appartment is average. The furnature is dated and could use a fresh look. This furnature is from the 70's or 80's. The matresses were a little thin and you could feel the springs. The pillows were thin and unconfortable. You could hear the neighbor showering from our bedroom. The room layout was nice but it loked dated so it appeared a little dirty.
It was a fair price for the rate but I was nit impressed. Bonus it came with garage access. The downstairs to the garage smelled like smoke really badly, it was nasty. We had to walk a good 15 to 20 minutes to the galleria so it was painful walking home after covering so much ground in one day. We covered between 11 and 15 mile, at least 3 of that was walking to and from the hotel.
Second bonus, the hotel has a washer and dryer for 3€ each. You small loads with the dryer, and it runs hot, it melted one of my shirts.

Although the location is quite good, the appartements are very old. It all looks like its build and designed in the 80's. Rooms are old and out of date. Beds are clean but sagged. Only 15 minute walk to the city centre and nice places to eat closeby. Won't be staying here again. The residence has its own parking spaces behind the building. The fridge makes a lot of noise at night, same for the elevators... Very old and small, kind of creepy to use. Sorry but was very dissapointed.

This residence is very good value to money especially for long stay. There is a kitchen with all cooking utensil you would need, big living room, spacious bathroom and bedroom plus balcony.
Two drawbacks we experienced 1) Check in time is a pain. We experienced by ourselves and heard from other guests that the residence is hardly able to deliver the room on time upon check in. we got there 4.30pm but the room was not ready ,me for the other two couples waiting at the lobby. 2) the residence is distant from the Firenze SMN station and tourist attractions. If you are looking for a place for easy access to attractions, better find another in the city.

This place really is just average. It is close to transport and a very good price. Having a kitchen is a huge bonus as well and the living room is nice. There are just a few too many issues to go along with it. Noise is the big one. There os mo soundproofing at all. You can clearly hear the people next door and on the street. The internal walls are partitions that don't reach the roof, there are curyains instead of doors and a disturbing smell that suggested cleaning was not a great priority. It's decent for the price, but in no way a prize.

We stayed here for 8 days and were located on the 5th floor overlooking the parking lot away from the potential noise of the street. Our apartment had not been upgraded as shown in the photos on www.venere.com but were comfortable enough. On the table when we arrived was a little basket of helpful goods to set us on our way, packages of toast, jams and instant coffee. The refrigerator was stocked with shelf milk and some tabs of butter.

The bathroom was lovely and modern, in all of our 3 week vacation it was the first and only vacation rental to have a tub to soak away the day. There was also no wifi available at all during our stay and so we used the single main computer available to all in the main lobby. Not certain of the security settings we only used it to write emails to friends. Laundry facilities are available in the basement using tokens purchased from the front desk at at 1 euro each (1 for washing, 1 for drying), and detergents are freely available beside the washer.

When we checked in we were given a sheet informing us that we were responsible for all missing items when we left. I probably would not have glanced at it except that there were only two wine glasses (celebrating our arrival) in the cupboard which tipped me off to revisit the list. We were short on knives, coffee spoons, water glasses, tea cups and had only a partial steel milk boiler. There were no salt and pepper shakers. We also had to exchange our moka pot as it leaked. I believe it was exchanged with an empty apartment. The kitchen had a dishwasher and I was thankful for it. The only catch with the kitchen was that you could not open the cutlery drawers or pot cupboard unless you closed the kitchen door shut.

I did like living in Florence here. There is a Conad's market on Porta al Prato that is strangely open on Sundays. The Funicular is a great pizza place just across the street from the grocery. Also, there is a vino sfuso, street number 49 (Cantina Toscana) on that same street just farther up, where you can go with your own containers to buy bulk wine. For instance one evening we picked up 3 litres of wine [not just for that night :)] for 6.80 euros. We cooked with relative comfort in our little apartment, and sat on the balcony drinking coffee and looking out at the hills.

We walked around Florence quite a bit from this location. When tired you can catch the T1 from the Santa Maria Novella train station for 1.30 euros. Tickets are available from the electronic machines.

Cleaning staff seem to come everyday unless you hang a sign on the doorknob. We really didn't want a hotel experience so we only had them come in once during our stay to take care of the garbage. The walls are paper thin which was unfortunate as on the last 2 days of our stay a family with two children under the age of two arrived with kids screaming into the night and up early in the day. There was no escape from the noise and no recourse. If it had been earlier in our stay I would have requested a room change but as we were leaving in a day it just wasn't worth it. But what can you really do about noisy neighbours?

I enjoyed being away from the tourist section and yet close enough to walk to it and would definitely come here again.

We went in late October and got amazingly lucky with the weather. We hired bikes from "Florence By Bike". Got a couple of road bikes for €30/day. Absolutely fantastic idea. Able to see "real" Italy. Cycled to Sienna, Fiosole & Impruneta. Just beware that Florence is somewhat in a ditch. Cycling anywhere requires a long slog up some nasty hills. The pay-off is worth it for the incredible views, and 50km/hour down-hill free-wheeling . Also to be aware is that some train companies consider a bike, an additional passenger and charge you accordingly.

The apartment was perfect for us, as we wanted a cheap(ish) launch pad to go and explore Florence/Tuscany. It was entirely adequete, but don't expect any frills.

Positives: Spacious apartment, kitchenette, bath with shower, two balconies! 24 hour/check-in. Underground locked parking - with plenty of space for bikes! Very clean. Good location - 20 mins walk from town-center. Relatively inexpensive *(There is a €4/per night/per person tax that is paid on arrival just to be aware of) Flat screen TV. Automated wake-up service.
Negatives: Thin walls to the outside - *Noise of traffic pushed the ratings down*. Retro-decor (but not that bad).

Room Tip: We were on the top floor, which suited us fine as there was a lift from the basement *(where we kept...
