This hotel had the friendliest staff, the best free breakfast and big rooms.
Loved staying at this hotel in Florance. It overlooked the river and the
main desk was on the 2nd level along with the room we stayed in.Our room
was huge,as all the other rooms in Room and venice were quite small in
comparison.

The place is very nice! It seems really old when you get there, but the room is nice and huge. The bathroom is small, but good. The location is perfect and the attendants are VERY helpful and kind. We really enjoyed staying there.

This hotel is only a couple of hundred yards from Ponte Vecchio, so well situated. Staff are very friendly and helpful in recommending restaurants, which we tried and enjoyed. The room was on the river and so has a great view from the window. The room was situated in the annex. It was a large room but very basic. The air conditioning was useless, set at 24 degrees and you couldn't alter it, so we baked a bit! This was mid September, so dread to think how hot the room would be in July/August.
Breakfast was good, a continental selection of pastries, fruit, cereals, cheese and ham and a machine that makes disappointing cappuccino, we're in Italy after all!
The only parking outside was taken when we arrived so had to manoeuvre the narrow streets and finally found ourselves a garage to leave the car. The receptionist at the hotel said they had their own garage and they collected the cars, but if you can't park outside there is little chance of getting it collected.
The best part of this hotel is its closeness to the Ponte Vecchio and Ufizzi and the centre of Florence.

Whatever you do, make sure you do not get stuck with room #29. It is located alongside the security door entrance. The headboard to your bed is along the wall opposite the main hallway. Not only are the walls paper thin and you can hear people checking in and laughing as they try to negotiate the security door, but it slams shut and shakes your bedroom wall. The first night there was simply horrendous as people were coming in all hours of the morning. Finally at 4:30am we were wide awake and decided to just get up.

We complained to management who swore that no one ever complained before, which I could not believe. They only had one other room available and said the HAD to charge us the extra euro10 for it, but it was a MAJOR step up.

Room #29, while huge a roomy, was actually quite plain. If you can afford it, ask to stay in the Historical wing where the rooms are exceptional. This is where they moved us, and it made ALL the difference in the world to our stay.

Other than that, the hotel is perfectly located and clean. Staff is efficient and pleasant, and did what they could to make our stay enjoyable. Breakfast is meager, but nice. Overall, once we were moved, it was a pleasant stay. If we wouldn't have been moved from room #29, it would have ruined our experience in Florence for sure.

Room Tip: NOT #29!!!! Ask to be situated in the Historical Wing.

The hotel is in an excellent location, beautiful rooms and nice service. To park you had to pay 30 euros per night if you wanted to have your car in a safe place. Breakfast was good. Price-service relation is good.

We were all thrilled with the location, service ( incredibly friendly staff), cleanliness, breakfast ( hot and varied), and view. We felt so at home here, and spent time just sitting around in their lounge area sipping lattes which the staff was willing to make at any time of day. There is a computer in this lounge for guests to use, and internet access was free. We were particularly pleased with the size of the rooms and bathroom.
However, it was the staff that made us feel very special. I would not hesitate to return there. I would also recommend it to everyone.

Room Tip: It did not matter to not have a room with a view, since the inside rooms were quiet and our 2nd floo...
