“Great location and proce”
Reviewed 1 January 2014

I paid 90 euros for two nights and well worth it. The breakfast is really nice in a separate dining area and with quite a varied choice from cereal, cheese, meats, croissants, eggs, toast and fruit!! Staff very helpful. Room was simple but I spent all day in Florence so it was good value. A few local restaurants near by. Taxi from railway was 10 euro.

The location is about 2 minutes from the river and a gentle ten minute stroll to the centre. The view walking up to the Duomo is amazing.. Book your tickets to the Uffizi in advance and miss the queues - its worth paying the extra.

We like staying at small family run hotels as they usually turn out to be friendlier. The Bologna turned out to be just the right choice.
We stayed four nights at the beginning of October 2013 taking a taxi from Santa Maria Novella Station on our arrival. The staff on reception were very helpful, recommending places to eat etc. The beds were comfortable and we slept well, the bathroom was small but very clean and it all worked!!
Breakfast was excellent with choices of meats, eggs, cheeses and yoghourts as well as breads and delicious pastries - really good coffee and juices too.
We walked into the centre each day to take the tours we had booked. It took about 20 minutes but the hotel is on bus routes if you don't fancy the walk.
All the staff at the Bologna looked after us well and we would recommend the hotel to anyone.

Spent two nights here with my girlfriend, were welcomed by friendly staff. It was close for us to the centre, but we do walk a lot. Breakfast was ok, rooms very dated (even the bottles in the minibar looked like they were over 20 years old, with labels falling off), and we had a very strange smell in our room, but when opened the window lots of mosquitos came in, and my girlfriend spent a good hour trying to get rid of them all so she could sleep in peace and not wake up with bites.
As mentioned though, the staff were great. The recommended some great restaurants, and explained about parking (which we got right outside the front door), and even sold us a carton of milk late at night (we felt like cereal).
All round, we enjoyed our stay here.

Myself and 15 year old daughter stayed for 3 nights October 2013. Reception staff very friendly and we had a quick checkin room 311. The room was large clean and spacious bathroom and the shower was fantastic. We had a problem with the wifi not working at all so the lady at reception suggested that we move to the second floor to get wifi working. The following morning we moved to room 211and the wifi worked. This room however had show of wear and tear and the bathroom tiny with mould on the tiles in the shower which you could clearly see that they had attempted to clean and paint over the grout with white. The shower head was broken so it would not stay up but the water pressure was very good. There is also a high level of room noise it does need better sound proofing. There was extra pillows if you needed them.

Breakfast had a good selection including scrambled eggs and bacon fresh fruit cereals and pastries etc staff very polite.

The hotel is about a10min stroll to the train station less than 5min to shopping area 20min to tower and Restuant are close. The tour bus stop is just at the top of the road to your right

We went by train to Florence 30euros for both of us return. Trains run regularly and it takes 1 hour

The hotel host a tuscany food tasting daily which i think is a nice touch but they should make it clear that you must purchase a drink in order to participate which am sure people won't mind. It's better than my experience which was when we walked in we are then approached and told we must buy a drink.

Overall our experience of this hotel was s good one due to the location and friendly helpful staff

Room Tip: If you not bothered about wifi rooms on the 3rd level are lovely 311 and modernised

We stayed for 3 nights in September 2013. Room 16 was smallish but comfortable, clean and quiet, with a peaceful view and (unlike many places) a screen on the large and beautiful window. Shower is tiny, so keep that in mind. Continental breakfast selection each day was wonderful, with a large, fresh, and well presented selection. It is a bit of a walk to major attractions but we didn't mind and enjoyed the residential neighborhood atmosphere. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful with recommendations of all kinds. Beds were quite comfortable and the room was a good value for its very reasonable cost. We would happily stay there again.

Room Tip: Room 16 faces the rear, with plants and trees in the near view, and less traffic noise than would be...

We spent 4 nights in Florence and enjoyed our hotel very much! We were comfortable with an excellent shower and a breakfast room with ABUNDANT selection. The staff was so helpful and we ate well at their recommendations every day. The walk to the Centro Storico was about a 20 minute hoof, but we were all fine with it. The area the hotel is in is very quiet and pleasant. I wish I could remember the brothers' names who worked the front desk! Thank you for all your advice and help. We would stay here again.

My family stayed for four nights. The room was very neat and clean but not that large for a four person suite. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was very good for a continental breakfast. The location was in my opinion too far to walk to the attractions but taking a taxi was only about 8 to 10 euros each way. For the price of the room it was worth the taxi fare. Overall it is a good value if you are looking for something simple and reasonably priced.
