A lot of people could stay here and be thrilled. The location is really good, and the hosts are friendly and helpful. I was there for five nights of my three weeks in Italy, and it was the only place I stayed that I would not give five stars to. I am a lover of going the extra mile with decor, ambiance and want a vacation accommodation to "feel" good to my soul. While the building is darling from the outside, the room itself looked like a hospital room. It was spacious, but not overly clean as there was black mold inside and outside the shower, dead bugs here and there on the bathroom floor. It just didn't have any "soul". But if you are out in the city for 15 hours a day and JUST use the room for sleeping and a quick shower, or if you aren't really interested in feeling at all pampered, this is fine.

You can ask for a blow dryer and they are happy to loan you one. The wifi worked great! I was able to walk most places, but I did need a taxi twice and the hosts graciously called one for me.

Piazza Ferrucci is probably 20 minutes walking distance from Ponte Vecchio, and the walk through the area of San Niccolo is really nice. "Alle Rampe" is a good option to stay quite close from the city center and for an affordable price. It's easy to park (closer to the center it is much more challenging), and well located, at the beginning of the road that takes you to Piazza Michelangelo. And in addition, the owner is a very pleasant lady. Frederic

I found Villa Alle Rampe when I was looking for hotels with free parking outside of the congestions zone. Our host was friendly and helpful. The room was very clean and simple, though there was an ancient plumbing smell in our bathroom (I realize this is an ancient city with ancient plumbing- it was evident at other stops in Florence as well). Breakfast was basic but good. there is no online booking system in place and I was wary of providing a credit card # over email to reserve the room, but I was not charged until check out.

This B&B is very nice. It's located across the river but still within walking distance to most attractions. Our room did not have a hair dryer or an alarm clock, which was disappointing. But, overall, the B&B was nice and we would return.
