Can't be classified has a 3-star hotel... If you think that the entry is strange, wait to see the interior, it's worse!
Has no facilities either in the room or elsewhere... Staff is not friendly or helpfull. The breakfast is the poorest thing and the room is depressing to say the least.

Overall, Florence is beatifull, but stay elsehere and don't let Alinari "Hotel" ruin your holiday experience

Good location close to train station. Staff does not speak English very well. Not a good hotel by any means, just a place to rest your head. Didn't have a play pen for our 5 month old. Room was booked way in advance so their 'we didn't know' excuse didn't fly.

Don't be deceived by any photos. We arrived to find our room nothing like the photos and definitely not even 2 stars. The toilet seat was broken, the fridge didn't work and the control for the heating did not work. and the staff seemed unwilling to deal with the matter. The following day, with a different staff member, we were moved to another room. The toilet seat in this room was also coming off. The fixtures and fittings were worn - there was little chrome left on the fittings in the bathroom and there were broken tiles. The lights were also malfunctioning. Apart from one older staff member the other male staff members were not helpful, or friendly. All in all - give it a miss...

Ii have no idea how this hotel got it's three star rating as I would describe it as seedy at best. The location was good, close to the main train station of Florence and all major attractions but it reminded me of the places I used to stay at as a back-packer in my teens and twenties when $$$$ were my main concern. Having just gotten back home I decided to review the pictures on the website - don't be fooled by them as they show the best possible angles while leaving out the tatty paint and scuffed floors. It was clean, though, and the breakfast was okay. Perfect for students travelling on the cheap, but give it a miss if you are looking for a romantic getaway in Florence.

I have been just last week in Florence to attend a conference from March 5th to 10th. I was on a limited budget and didn´t expect to spend too much time in an hotel room anyway. However it´s not that easy to find relatively cheap decent accomodations in the middle of Florence! I have checked out several low-budget hotels and didn´t get a convincing ratings.
Eventually I have decided to book at the Hotel Alinari and I didn´t regret it. It is very central and located in an historical building. What I read in other references about the elevator, the breakfast, the towels, the overall conditions I didn´t find it confirmed during my stay.
It is true though that the hotel rooms are not very well isolated and one can hear water flow, walls are a bit scratched etc. However breakfast was tasty (but I am Italian and I like cornetto and cappuccino), W-LAN high speed, TV functional, clean, people nice, I couldn´t expect more for 50EUR per night!?

Room Tip: I have asked for a quiet room when booking and I got one at the end of the corridor with only one ne...

With only one night in this hotel I can say that we found it close to everything with generally pleasant staff.
A little difficult to locate due to the numbering system- for this property the nu8mbers are consecutive with numbers 14,15 & 16 on the same side of the road.
Our room was a large room with two single beds and a double bed with a small balcony that had a view of the courtyard of a neighboring building and a small view of nearby homes. My friends room was smaller and quite nice, too.
Cleaning standard for our room was very good, the man on reception was very nice during the day - the older male night manager was another story!
Breakfast was adequate and the location was superb- a few minutes walking to everywhere. The small lift was quaint and we enjoyed using this to access the hotel on the 4th floor. Lost of small restaurants and even a small supermarket nearby.
Room had bath, shower ,bidet and toilet.

Room Tip: Ask to look at the room first- small balcony rooms are better positioned than the ones that open to...
