“Great location in Florence”
Reviewed 30 July 2014

We enjoyed our stay. The staff was very helpful. The location couldn't be better. The living area is up 30 plus steps. Then you need to take a short elevator ride up to the rooms. The steps may pose a problem for individuals with problems climbing stairs or with heavy luggage.

The rooms are very nice. The bathrooms are ensuite which is very nice in Europe. The room has a small refrigerator.

This is in the prime location of Florence, right on the Piazza della Signoria! The staff is so friendly and helpful, Pamela is a gracious hostess and will take good care of you. The hotel itself is very clean and comfortable even though in an ancient building. That being the case, there are some stairs to climb before the elevator, not a problem for us in our 50's. Personally I loved staying in a authentic Florentine dwelling surrounded by beautiful antiques. My expectations were exceeded!

We chose to splurge like royalty on the Gold room for 4 nights. It is actually a huge 2 bedroom suite with 3 large windows that open up to a view that will knock your socks off! What a dream to look out your window at the Dome, Palazzo Vechio, David statue, Fountain of Neptune, life in the piazza, etc. I could just live in that window for months on end. At night we could hear the lullaby of classical guitar and faint Italian conversation from below, but if I could bare to close said window and heavy shutters, I'm sure if would be quiet.

Step outside the door, with a restaurant to either side of you, and you are floored by the magnificence of the Loggia dei Lanzi with the Uffizi Gallery next door, talk about first in line. Walk through courtyard for a short stroll along the Arno river to the Ponte Vechio. Location, location, location!

I'm so tempted (selfishly) to hesitate the high recommendation of how wonderful this hotel and the Gold room are, as I want it to be available- WHEN I RETURN!! There isn't another place in all of Florence that I would want to stay at. Pamela, please save us a room. :)

Room Tip: If a little noise may bother you, chose a room in the back.

Dear Guest,
thanks for amazing words you spent for us and the beautiful review. We are very happy when we leave a good impression on our guests and we can contribute to the success of them stay in Florence.
Thanks for the words about the staff, we try to be always warm and friendly with our guests to make them feel like part of the "family" and give them the chance to feel completely at ease. Of course we are always happy to help our guests to organize their stay.
The room where you stayed is the jewel in the crown, despite all our rooms are very spacious and individually decorated, because it is huge and richly decorated and can offer a beautiful view on the square.
For us is a source of pride that choosing our B&B, you can enjoy a very good position in the centre of the downtown and in one of the best square in the world.

We hope to see you soon in our B&B, we would be happy to welcome you again!

Best regards

Nice stay, great location. The pros...nice part-time staff, honest room in ideal, ideal, ideal, location. Clean and friendly. Great value. The considerations...the steps/elevator...not for everyone as elevator is tiny and you're hauling bags up three flight of stairs to get to it. Rooms are authentic, like a decent home, not a top tier hotel. Not brand new and not completely spit polished as furnishings and bathrooms are old--not at all a bad thing. We liked it for what it was, but it's not for every traveller type. Would stay there again. Liked room in the back, away from street noise. Restaurant trash hauling (bottles) noises start early. Windows are good, but don't block it all. Enjoyed my stay and highly recommend as per caveats.

I read many reviews before I selected Soggiorno Antica Torre. After reading so many positive reviews, we booked the Blue Room for three nights. We were very pleased that the location was so central to restaurants, sights , and entertainment. The Uffizi Museum is steps from the B and B. Our hosts were knowledgeable and friendly. We plan to stay there during our next trip to Florence.

Room Tip: Ask for the Blue Room. It's spacious and relaxing . We didn't hear any noise from the square...

After receiving the recomendation from family, we had 5 nights in the Blue room and found it to be spacious and clean. We cannot say anymore about the location it is central to almost everything and walking distance to all major attractions even the train terminal is about 15mins walk without luggage or a 10€ taxi ride. Costanza and Pamela are so friendly and most accommodating, all that is required is provided both verbally and written. Yes the are only available between 8am and 1pm and we didn't miss them one bit considering we where out most of the day. Free Wifi and computers are available. Blue room has no real view otherwise this would have been an excellent review and you can here the bell from the clock tower between 6am and midnight. We would recommend this accomodation to anyone looking for a central location.

my wife and I stayed here for a night. we didn't have trouble finding this place at all. we took a taxi from the train station (Firenze SMN) to Piazza Signoria. we got there about 10am. the instructions on the voucher were very clear. the staff were very friendly and helpful. this B&B place have a total of 6 rooms. we got room#6. no view but the bathroom looks newly remodeled. the room is directly at the "living room / office lobby" where the staff is and where people check-in. so it's a bit awkward and you can hear them from the room and they can probably hear us too. it gets quiet after 1pm. as mentioned by other reviewers, it is located at Piazza Signoria so lots of people in the square. don't really know much about Florence but most popular tourist place seem to be walking distance from here. we walked for probably about a 2mile radius and there were touristy people everywhere. we only stayed for a day/night so didn't really get to explore much. the entrance door to the B&B is between two restaurants. it was a bit awkward coming in/out when people eating stare at you but whatever... all in all, it was an okay place to stay for short term. i wouldn't recommend this place (or at least not room#6) if you're on a honeymoon. :) for longer term, i would stay at a hotel for privacy but be prepared to pay more for rooms smaller than this place.

The hotel has a Fantastic location as just outside there are many restaurants and statues to admire and it is very close to the leather markets and other stores. The rooms were nice and clean and a decent size. The bathroom was also nice and clean however it took quite an amount of force to shut the door and the shower itself was somewhat awkward.

The two main issues we had were the internet being quite unreliable most of the time and also being unable to contact the staff outside of 8am to 1pm. When we did speak to the hotel staff they were lovely and helped us out getting to all the sights we wanted to see however we ended up having to sort out checkout once we had left as we left after 1pm and they were already gone.

Room Tip: If you can, ask for a room which faces the piazza, we didn't and the view was just an alleyway.
