“Interior cool, pretty close to museums etc”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 April 2013

A group of us stayed here in two apartments, which was really handy, as one door separated us making it into one large one. We found the outside of the apartment block was grubby, and the signage was pretty poor and not very welcoming. When we arrived we rang the lady and she arrived a little while after. She didnt speak English very well, but I guess once we were able to get codes for access etc then we were happy enough. The apt was kitted out with cutlery and cups etc, it was missing a kettle, it didn't have a coffee maker. We really liked the look of the apartment, really funky. The electricity went in the other ladies apartment (in our group), which was a little annoying for showers, we rang the owner and she rectified it. We also found the toilet didn't flush very well, other times it did. The bed was really comfy with extra duvets if needed. In general we were pretty happy with it, as it was pretty close to restaurants, bars, Cathedral and other attractions. The cost was so reasonable.

Room Tip: Apt 2/3 were on ground floor, no elevator, so if you have reduced mobility these would be most suita...

3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 11 July 2009

Location of the apartment is good, 10 min walk to Duomo or Uffizi. Bed was comfortable.
We had a few problems though. The AC did not cool at all the first night, so we complained and then the gas in the AC was refilled, after which it worked fine. The flooring is very old and dirty. There was no shower curtain initially and the water flowed out of the bathroom. (The bathroom has a jacuzzi shower.) There is no washing machine in the apartment, it is in the basement and you have to pay to use it.
The entrance is nowhere as nice as it appears in the photo. It is actually quite dark and dated.
For the same price, you can find better accommodation. We did not have many options because, coincidentally, a fashion event was being held in Florence during the period of our stay, so most of the accommodations recommended on TA were fully booked.
