Last Christmas our family of 2 adults and 2 kids went on a trip all over Europe ending up in Florence before we all went on to a Mediterraean cruise. The First of Flornece was the best and cheapest hotel in the whole 6 week trip. Easily the best. The residence is in a old building with a massive front entrance that could easily have a team of horses and coach drive into (probaly did in the past) , marble staircase and really cool old fashined lift.
We had the suite with the red curtains and marble fireplace in the promo pictures. It was enormous - split over 2 levels with 3 bathrooms, 2 bedrooms and a sofa bed, washing machine, dryer, full kitchen, a full fridge of food (well almost - definitely enough to make dinner on your first night), flat screen TV, free wifi, etc. We really needed a good last stop before the ship and this was 5 stars all the way
Best of all it is one block from the Duomo (2 mins walk) and the heart of historic Florence. The Ufizzi/Palazzo Vecchio is like 6-7 mins away, the Accademia (statue David) 2-3 mins.
The steet it is on has a supermarket with everything - buy food here and cook it yourself and save a bundle on eating out.
This really is an excellent place and I am so glad we stayed here - it gave...Last Christmas our family of 2 adults and 2 kids went on a trip all over Europe ending up in Florence before we all went on to a Mediterraean cruise.
