We stayed at the Hilda since it was recommended to us by our travel agent and we weren't disappointed. The location was fantastic. Easy walking distance to the good sites but far enough away that you didn't feel you were in the middle of everything. The fact that we had a suite where we could eat in when we wanted was a tremendous benefit for us. The suite was very large and extremely comfortable. The staff were very friendly and helpful (though not there 24/7 - we had a key to allow us to access the building when they weren't there). We highly recommend the local produce market for fruit and vegetables for the room. Our only criticism was that the wifi was spotty. It didn't work in all parts of the apartment and the signal was stronger at some times of day than others.

I was hesitant at first to book at an apart-hotel for fear that I would miss the 24-hour concierge service, but the price and location (a 2 minute walk to the Duomo, 8 minutes to the Arno) made the risk worthwhile. When we arrived at the Hilda, I was amazed by how huge the room was - it was "only" a standard room, but the size of a 1-bedroom apartment, in fact larger than most apartments in NYC or London. You walk in to a large foyer area, then a sitting room with couch, table and 4 chairs, a fully equipped kitchen with refrigerator, wine glasses, cutlery, plates, cooking utensils, and a separate bedroom area with very comfortable queen size bed (not the typical hard european mattress or 2 single beds pushed together -- this bed was more comfortable than the Westin in Rome!) . The bathroom was better than mine at home -- it had a sparkling-clean marble rainforest shower with separate bidet, 8 people could fit in that bathroom easily. the room itself was spotless with hardwood floors and new, modern furniture. Even though its an apart-hotel, you get maid service with daily towel and linen changes for an extra $5, and the good news is that they never came until we left the room (no matter what time that was). We had left a half-finished glass of white wine on the table, and they placed a napkin over it and put it in the fridge for us (just like your Mom would do). And my fears about the lack of concierge were unfounded -- the front desk staff was more helpful and attentive (especially via email) than any concierge at a "big" hotel -- they made restaurant reservations, booked a wine tour in tuscany with a private guide, booked 2 city walking tours at the very last minute, and gave very practical advice (such as to take the bus for 5 euro to the Mall for shopping, instead of wasting $35 euro per person on the hired minivan). They also had spectacular restaurant recommendations -- they sent us to a local, trendy, just-opened mozerella and wine bar (we were the only tourists). Their English was perfect and they were very friendly and professional. I have very high standards when traveling (I prefer Aman and Mandarin and SLH), and was not disappointed. I have been to Florence 14 times and have stayed at all the 5 stars (from Fiesole to the Savoy) and would never stay anywhere but the Hilda from now on-- amazing value and service! You will not be disappointed.

The hotel / serviced apartments were very clean and well maintained. A couple of 100 meters from the Duomo and walking distance to everywhere else.

Valentina and Fransceso were very helpful in pointing us in the right direction, booking tickets and generally advising without being intrusive.

We were three adults and had enough space for the family not to feel cramped compared to a hotel room.

I would highly recommend Residence Hilda

Adding to a prefect location - there is great staff, spacious rooms and a few Euro voucher for an American breakfast available next door. This is definitely one of the best places in Florence.

It is with great pleasure that I write a review for the Residence Hilda. Months before our trip, Francesco and Valentina at the Hilda helped me plan our short stay in Florence. They made all of our museum reservations in advance, which made it possible for me, my husband, and teenage daughter to see everything I had hoped to in what was just a three day stay.

The space is a fabulous small apartment, with a kitchen. We enjoyed buying our own food in the small market down the street and eating in half the time. The Hilda is simply wonderful and only a couple of blocks from the Florence Cathedral. Walk to everything.

We had a car, which was a pain. Parking is expensive and driving into Florence is crazy. But again, Francesco sent us detailed directions ahead of time, which made it possible.
