“Beautiful B&B in fab location”
Reviewed 23 September 2013

Close by to the Santa Maria Novella train station and the Duomo, this hotel is in a really great location. Lots and lots of keys to get you in and out of the hotel, so you know you/your belongings are safe! The rooms are absolutely beautiful and very spacious. Tasty continental breakfast, with the option to eat in your room.

We were slightly disappointed that the staff weren't able to tell us whether or no we had been granted the late checkout we had requested upon booking, but overall, very friendly.

I think the room was somewhat wasted on us as friends, but had I come with a lover this hotel would have made a very romantic stay.

We stayed here for a week in 2010 and again in 2012, the rooms are totally incredible each one is individual and the service and staff are delightful. I have hessitated to write a review as its one of those places you feel you'd like to keep to yourself!! Its quiet, cool and central for all the city and the owners are lovely. Very highly reccomended, we will always return when we go to Florence and we will always return to Florence!

Room Tip: The frescoed superior rooms are stunning.

Very nice B&B with excellent service and a perfect location in the middle of Florence. Our room was nothing short of amazing, with antique furniture, lots of room and excellent comfort. Cleanliness was also excellent, as was the breakfast, served in nice surroundings. Highly recommended!

Room Tip: We were lucky, we got a corner suite with lots of room and a wood burning stove (not that we needed...

Myself and my husband stayed here in Sept 2012 as a part of our honeymoon travels. We cannot fault Residenza Castiglioni in any way we absolutely loved our stay. It is so central, all the sights are just a short walk away. We were given a beautiful room, i think we may have been upgraded due to the special occasion. It was a large room with all the amenities you could need including a mini bar with great selection. Also we could see the top of the Duomo from the little balcony. We were given a complimentary bottle of Processo which was one of the nicest we've tasted. Breakfast was a real treat, great variety of drinks and food and my husband was a big fan of the homemade yogurts. I would highly recommend to any visitors to Florence.

We stayed in that hotel for 8 days. It was a perfect stay for me and my 3 friends!!!!! We were given a big room with comfortable beds. There is a kettle in the room as well, with the variety of tea. Free wi-fi. Every morning we had a very good breakfast, prepared by the hotel owners. They prepared us breakfast even if it was early in the morning, before the normal breakfast time))) The rooms are very clean and the bathroom has everything you need in it. The stuff is very helpful and nice))) The accomodation is in the city centre, walking distance to main sightseeings and very close to the train station, what is also good if you want to travel by train to other cities of Italy, as we did!! We really reccommend this hotel to all the travelers, if you want a nice place to stay for good price))

This is a great place to stay in Florence, easy to find from the train station, and central location. Its ideal for a short stay and easily within walking distance of all the main attractions.
The room was a very good size, with high ceilings and really looked the part for Florence, big windows, the pictures on the walls and ceiling.
The breakfast was nice and the staff friendly.
Didn't notice much noise from the street at night and the shower was fine when we were there.

If I was staying in Florence for an extended period I would opt for somewhere abit bigger, less basic, with a bar/restaurant, but for the price and perfect location its great for a weekend break or afew days in Florence.

I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO ANYONE VISITING FLORENCE FOR AFEW DAYS

Good Points:-
Great location close to the Duomo
Good selection for breakfast included in the price
Comfortable room and bed
Large powerful shower with plentiful supply of hot water. A previous review suggested that the water ran cold but it certainly didn't in our room.
Selection of wines in the minibar at very reasonable prices
Close, but not too close, to the station (6 min walk)

Not so good:-
Noise from the side street woke me up early each morning
