We stayed here for 4 nights in January 2013. Family of 4, with 2 adults and 2 teenage children. Had the ground floor family suite which comprised 2 huge rooms - even better, it had two bathrooms, which is rare for family accom.

Accom is about a 25 minute walk from the Ponte Vecchio in a nice residential part of Florence - even though it is on a busy road, it is set back a fair distance from the road and is actually very quiet. And it is a beautiful tree lined area, with walking tracks and lots of facilities nearby - eg. supermakets/grocery stores, restaurants, bus, etc. It is not a vibrant and exciting part of Florence, but we were not wanting that any way. This was an ideal base to use to explore Florence from. There was a bus into the centre of town, just nearby, but we loved the walk into town along the river so never actually tried the bus out.

The rooms are very comfortable, very spacious, and very tastefully/stylishly appointed. Was great to have a galley kitchen as well, with a stove top, so we could cook on the rare occassions we wanted to stay in.

Staff were very helpful.

Highly recommend this for families wanting somewhere to base themselves in Florence.

Stayed for 4 nights with my wife. The room was perfect - very large and comfortable with a good bed and a kitchen. Although did not have a tud only a shower.
Angela (the owner) was very helpful with everything - taxis restaurants, sites.
The location is perfect in a quiet neighborhresidences rom the tourist masses. The parking is free on site.
There are a number of bars cafes and restaurants (some really good) within walking distance.

Room Tip: Take one with a patio and a hot tub if available.

This was a nice place to stay for the two nights I was in Florence. Angela was delightful and very helpful when I needed some restaurant recommendations. The property is located on a quiet street. I walked easily into the city both days. There is also a bus route nearby. The room was more than spacious and comfortable. Although I didn't use the kitchen, it was nice to have a refrigerator in the room with cold drinks. It would be a great choice for families with kids.

Room Tip: If I returned I would pick a room upstairs. I was the first room when you entered the Residence so a...

Our 3 week vacation in Italy was absolutely wonderful. Our 6 day stay at the Residence Michelangiolo was the highlight of our trip once again. This was our 3rd visit to the Residence with our incredible hosts Angela and Cherubino. The location is the best in my 6 visits to Florence. The location is in a wonderful Florentine neighborhood that should be explored. It is a short 10 minute walk to the center city where you can see every attraction. It offers wonderful large rooms with kitchen, patios and quiet tranquil grounds. Parking is included. Our hosts answered every question prior and during our stay. Reservations for restaurants and attractions make your stay easy and convenient. Angela made some great recommendations on Tuscany drives and Tuscan Hill Town visits. Your will absolutely enjoy your stay.

Room Tip: We love the ground floor rooms and have stayed in all of them. You have an easy walk out to a lovel...

his is one of the most wonderful places in Florence to stay at. Angela who runs the "residence" really makes it worth while to stay there. It is like a home away from home. The rooms are spacious and very comfortable. They have a small kitchen if you like to cook with most utensils available for use. We stayed 3 nights and found the neighborhood quite and easy to get too, There is a bus 13 from the Railway station and bus 12 to the station which almost drops you to the door or the 23 bus and its not much of a walk. If you like walking like we did you can get to most places to see in 15 mins to 30 mins walking. It really is beautiful and rooms 102 103 and 104 have a terrace outside. There is a wonderful bakery nearby which Angela will recommend and rightly so.

Room Tip: 102 103 and 104 have Terrace to sit in.

This was perfect for our young family. It was quiet, 20mins walk from the city, but easy enough to visit and see all the sites. We could then escape to this beautiful tranquil property with its fantastic hosts whenever we needed a rest. Big rooms, bathrooms etc that felt less like a pokie hotel and more like a stately villa. With coffee shops and restaraunts 5 mins walk away, the evenings were an escape from the tourists and a chance to mix with locals. This was a fantastic part of our trip and we will deffinately go back. Thanks Angela you made our stay a dream :)

Residence Michelangiolo did not disappoint. This is a beautiful place with all of the charm of Florence. We stayed here for 3 nights in August in an apartment for 4. This was a 2 bedroom suite on the first floor with a galley kitchen. The rooms were large with a beautiful outdoor patio which we thoroughly enjoyed every evening. Angela was very welcoming and gave us great tips on restaurants and directions. The property is located in a safe area and is about a 15 minute walk from the town center and attractions. You can easily catch a bus right outside the hotel, if you prefer. The rooms were clean and the air conditioning worked great (it was very hot during our stay).

We enjoyed our stay at Residence Michelangiolo and will definitely go back when we return to Florence.
