A superbly appointed central Florentine flat that puts you on the doorstep to every attraction the city has to offer. The two bedroom flat is located a few shorts steps from the Duomo; being on the second floor it provides a cool air conditioned sanctuary away from the heat and the crowds just when you need it. The apartment is very well appointed with two spacious bedrooms, a cool and very comfortable lounge, with a spacious and well equipped kitchen. The two bathrooms top off this ideal accommodation facility.
Ele, your hostess, is a lovely lady who makes you feel at home. She is attentive and explains everything in the apartment so that you are able to enjoy its facilities from the very start. Both my husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay and this excellent accommodation. We would have no hesitation in recommending this apartment and its wonderful owner to our family and friends. Thank you for making our stay in Florence so memorable.
The San Miniato apartment's location is perfect. We could open a window in the living room, kitchen or one of the bedrooms and could see the Duomo right there. There were restaurants and shops all around so the location was just perfect. Eleonora was the perfect hostess who met us on our arrival and spent almost an hour going over each and every detail of the apartment and also showed us how to use the appliances and where to find everything. This was greatly appreciated. Her apartment was simply amazing. Eleonora has stocked the apartment with everything one can possibly need. What we really liked was that the apartment had a brand new washer cum dryer with plenty of laundry detergent available so we were able to wash most of our clothes. There was also a drying rack for our cotton clothes, an iron and full size ironing table. The kitchen had nice cutlery and utensils and even coffee, sugar and olive oil. There was dish detergent and trash bags as well as all the necessary toiletries in the bathroom. She also gave us information on where to find authentic Florentine cuisine. I have yet to met a host who is so helpful. The apartment was spotlessly clean and large and made our vacation truly wonderful. Thank you Eleonora.
Exceptional location half a block from Piazza del Duomo. Eleonora (the owner) greeted us upon arrival with warmth and enthusiasm. The apartment was very clean with large bedrooms and a very functional kitchen
We booked the San Miniato apartment for almost a month late last year knowing that there is so much to explore in Florence, and explore we did. From the Uffizi,(the most famous) to Opificio delle Pietre Dure (which was amazing but very few either know of it or take the time), and so many others. Really, you could visit repeatedly and still find things to discover. Art is everywhere in Florence, so sometimes just walking around feels like you are in a museum.
The owner of this lovely apartment, Eleonora, is such a gracious host. She informed us on all the workings of the apartment, which are quite different than we have here in the states. Rest assured it has everything you could want from the kitchen to the jacuzzi in one bath to the very comfy beds. No detail has missed her attention. This is probably due to the fact that it was her home for many years, and in sharing it with others it gives us a wonderful representation of what the true Florentine lifestyle is like. It is “the” place to stay and feel at home like a Florentine, for however long you stay.
The apartment is in a perfect location for all the you could see and do. You can easily get back after a long day of sightseeing, rest up and then go out again for the evening. We even cooked in a few times, having made several stops at local stores for items like cheese, wine, and all that one needs to eat in true Italian style. When you read all the reviews, it appears we all want to come back and stay here. It is a testament to how well cared for this apartment is and also to Eleonora, whose kind manner and generosity, just make you want to see her again.
Additionally, Eleonora shared information on restaurants, sights that are not to be missed, and contacting the taxi service when it was time to head home. We cannot thank you enough Eleonora, for making us feel so welcome and all that you did to assist us in making this our unforgettable Italian adventure. Until next time. Ciao
Eleonora is the perfect host, providing maps and suggestions of what to see and do.
The Museum of the Duomo Workshop (Opera del Duomo) was our favourite recommendation and we shopped for our dinner at the Central Markets which were less than 10 minutes away.
There is a Conad supermarket 50 meters down the street and a larger one around the corner from the Duomo. Both are very well stocked and open in the evenings.
The apartment is very secure, full of character, comfortably furnished, with large and luxurious beds and good sized rooms. We had the bedroom at the rear with the convenient although small ensuite. We stayed two weeks and had breakfast every morning and cooked dinner almost every night in the separate eat-in kitchen.
The brand new washer-dryer was most convenient and easy to use and the central heating was very welcome after the chilly Winter days exploring wonderful Florence.
Eleonora also showed us the one bedroom apartment next door overlooking the internal courtyard. It is also large and very well appointed and looks ideal for a couple or three persons. My partner and I will probably stay there next visit.
I look forward to staying again in Eleobora's beautiful, convenient and inviting old home which also has a lift which was very welcome after a long day walking, shopping and exploring.
The three of us were very happy there and truly felt at home!
Thank you for your generosity & welcome Eleonora.
Can't wait to return! Couldn't have felt more like home.
Spacious, clean; a perfect location! Pleasant, well appointed; a true Florentine experience.
Eleanora's greeting upon our arrival so gentile. She is well organized in her plan and preparations. Grazie!
A PERFECT 10 ALL AROUND! Baci-
This apartment was incredible! Had everything you could possibly need - SPOTLESSLY CLEAN! It was the owner's former residence, and it showed that they love it! It's location could not be better - right next to the Duomo. We walked to the the sites with no problem - San Lorenzo, Medici Chapels, The Accademia and David, Uffizi, Pitti, Ponte Vecchio, Piazza Signoria, Piazza Republica. Nothing was more than a few minutes. Needless to say, restaurants and shopping everywhere. The owner met us and gave us an orientation to the apartment, along with recommendations and restaurants which reflected our interests. Owner could always be available for anything by phone. Do not miss this one!
