My husband and I took the glorious day in Florence walking tour that consisted of a thorough 3+ hour walking tour, an Uffizi tour, and an Accademia tour to see Michelangelo's David. It was one of our favorite days on the entire honeymoon (besides seeing Pompeii).
Liz did the first part of the walking tour which was fascinating. I studied abroad in Florence for three months in 2006, but felt like I was there for the first time. Her knowledge of the architecture, history behind the secret wine takeout windows, the grain dispensary, etc. was deep and passionate! Then we saw the Uffizi with Kane--this was great, but that museum is huge so you can't see everything there in the time allotted. Then we had Brenda for the Accademia. She's full of energy and is from Florence which is neat. All in all, a fabulous day in Florence.
"Don't eat gelato from a place whose pistachio gelato looks too green." (Thanks Liz!)
