“Best location and value in Florence. Fantastic hotel!”
Reviewed 22 March 2009

Oh, where do we begin?? What an unbelievable hotel in the best spot of all of Florence. The Regis is perhaps our favorite European hotel for the following reasons:

1. Location. You are right in the heart of it all. The Palazzo Vecchio is right outside your door. You are a 5 minute walk from the Duomo, 2 minute walk from the Ponte Vecchio, and 50 feet from the Uffuzi Gallary. (Surprising, despite the busy location, the room was perfectly quiet inside.)

2. Room. We reserved a mini-suite, room #101. It was a larger than average room with a small kitchenette. (One night we actually picked up some wine, bread, prosciutto, pesto, and parmesean and took it back to the room. Fantastic.

3. Complimentary services. The hotel has Sky Satellite, which means you have 30 English stations, to include Fox News, ESPN, MTV, etc. Second, the hotel offers complimentary internet. (Note: They do not offer wireless. They will give you a Lan to plug into.). Third, Roberto will greet you with a welcome basket that includes coffee, water, breadsticks, etc.

4. Service. Roberto (the owner) was absolutely wonderful. In addition to ensuring the room was cleaned and that we were constantly taken care of, he helped us with some restaurant and shopping suggestions.

In all, this hotel is fantastic and you will certainly enjoy your stay. Thanks Roberto for an unforgettable stay in your wonderful hotel.

(One note: There is no wake-up call service. Through Roberto will lend you an alarm clock, I recommend packing one on your trip.)

My wife and I travel often to Florence for vacation. This was a rare find for us. The location is the "BEST" in the city. Steps to everything. Minutes to all the best restaurants. We were 4 doors away from the Uffizi Museaum. Maybe a 5 minute walk to the local train station, so we explored Tuscanny almost daily. The most difficult situation was checking in... as the office is on the highest (6th) Floor and you had to lug all your stuff up, then back down to your room. If you don't mind the hike up 6 flights, its definately worth your while. PS: ask to use the TV... it has 800 plus channels, but its not user friendly.

Fantastic hotel and the location couldn't be better. Right on the main piazza in Florence, steps away from the Uffizi and numerous statues, and just a couple blocks from the Duomo and the Ponte Vecchio.

Rooms were just as nice as they look on the website, everything was very modern and clean. Modern amenities and fantastic toiletries (Ferragamo). Our windows overlooked the piazza. Staff was very friendly and helpful in making restaurant reservations.

Highly recommended.

A little chilly, otherwise a WONDERFUL hotel right on the square overlooking a beautiful piazza. The staff was wonderful and even let us keep our bags in the room the next day after checkout. We received very helpful information about local restaurants. This is a MUST STAY!!

We stayed here on our honeymoon for 6 nights. 3 of them in the standard room with a view of the most beautiful piazza in Florence. The room was spacious, well decorated, new, small cooking corner (fridge, dishes, stove, sink) The last 3 nights we upgraded into the smaller penthouse with a deck overlooking the piazza and the ponte vecchio......it was well worth the extra $$. It was a spacious one bedroom, flat screen TV's (English channels and movie options) Having wine on the deck is worth every penny and more. The staff was extremely helpful and we will stay there again next time we are in Florence. We would recommend this place to all types of travellers. It was the best place we stayed at the entire month long trip.

What a gem! The location is absolutely perfect, safe, walking distance to every major sight. Best stay we had in Italy. The room was spotless, spacious and very chic. We had the room without a view (and there was literally no view), but it didn't matter. The comforts inside made up for it. This type of stay for such value is rare in Italy.
Note - 1) When booking, ask the hotel to make reservations for the museums to avoid long lines. 2) Notify the hotel first if you have a car. The area has something similar to congestion pricing laws. 3) Go see Jonathan at Cantinetta dei Verrazzano about 5 blocks away. Don't order wine, let him suggest something. Great food and service. 18, Via dei Tavolini across from Orsanmichele Church.

I stayed at the property last week with my parents. Overall there are so many positive things to say. It is very clean, very modern, comfortable and large rooms. The staff is very helpful and nice! Plus the location can't be beat! It is the best location to be in... just steps from everything!

Only two things I should mention .. it isn't really a "hotel or inn" in the normal sense .. it is more apartments. Which is fine, just please note that there isn't a typical front desk, etc. Also, we missed having the continental breakfast and it is hard to find a place for a sit down breakfast in the morning. However, we were only there for one night so if you are staying longer, it might not be an issue since they have a fridge, stove, etc in the room. Also, not all the rooms have the same amenities .. such as cable sattelite, etc.

I think this would be the perfect place to stay if you are in Florence for 3 nights or so and are looking for less of a hotel type experience.
