I dont care about how another wrote down about this hotel, I just love it!
I would recommend this hotel. It was hard to find but just look the picture and find the door which has a name of the hotel beside or see many motorcycles in front of the hotel. This hotel is center of everything in Florence. The reception who is a man is very friendly but if you meet the woman who cant respond you and make you feel frustate, just ignore her and sitting down to wait a man. Trust me! One thing that I dislike about this hotel is a bathroom is small

This past September we stayed at the Hotel Aldobrandini, a no frills option in the very middle of Florence. Please note this hotel occupies partial floors of what used to be a palace in its heyday so there's NO sign outside; you must go by the exact street address & ring the large bell on your right to get in. Once inside follow the signs - there is a lift & some steps to the front desk - and make sure you don't knock at the door of another tenant! This hotel fulfills all the basics and is ideally situated, within walking distance of the train station, central bus depot, & tourist information office. There are plenty of restaurants (PLENTY!), the San Lorenzo outdoor leather market literally next door, and the Duomo no more than three blocks away. Owner Ignazio was ever so gracious, helping with our luggage, storing it while we took a side trip, correcting a double charge made by the website, pointing out sites on our map, etc., etc. The room was small but comfortable with the best A/C we found during the whole trip and breakfast was continental with great cappuccinos made by Ignazio, of course!

Room Tip: If like me you are not in your prime, try to avoid the spiral staircase that leads to the rooms upst...

Not the cleanest place, but is safe and in a great location. Can't remember the male manager's name but he was super friendly and helpful. Had to go up a short, wobbly, narrow, spiral staircase....we were backpacking so this didn't matter but if you had large luggage, or found stairs challenging this might bug you. Some noise in the mornings as the leather market sets up.
AC was good. Wifi in the lobby.
Would stay here again. Exactly what we were looking for.

I (middle aged woman travelling solo) stayed here four nights in January (low season in Florence). Lovely old palazzo. Location is fantastic - very central and short walk to Duomo. Proprietors were friendly, but one of them chain smokes, so the hall often reeks of smoke. I had a basic room with shared bath. It was perfectly adequate, but I can see where noise could be a problem in busier months (during most of my stay, I was the only guest on the floor). There is also street noise. Bottom line - this is a great budget choice if you're flexible and don't intend on spending much time in your room.

The hotel is very basic. Rooms are small and old, but clean. At night you can not only hear street noise, but also water running from other apartments, which was annoying. Breakfast also very basic. Personnel was nice though. We didn´t had a bad stay, but I would look for somewhere else to stay.

Let me say that I didn't like at all this hotel and I would never recommend it to anyone. Is very expensive for what they are offering. The only good think is the central location. The room is very small and tired. You can hear what you neighbors’ are talking about and all the noise from the corridors. The women at the reception desk look very unfriendly and angry.
