We had one of the apartments with the frescos painted on the ceiling of the bedroom. Very spacious apartment and everything was very clean. It's an independent setting with the owner living in the building and willing to help out but no formal hotel-type desk - so make sure to arrange your arrival time. The bed was comfortable, the shower was nice and having your own heat / air controls was great as well. And the location was perfect - a few blocks to the Duomo and our apartment windows opened onto the street that the Academia is on! A great value!

Just returned from 4 nights in the deluxe apartment at Palazzo Alfani. What a wonderful experience. The apartments are situated on the bustling Via Ricasoli opposite the Academia museum. As soon as you walk through the door you enter a peaceful haven from the hectic life of Florence. The apartment we stayed in was huge, with 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a kitchen and living area. The rooms were beautifully proportioned with high ceilings, simply but elegantly furnished. It was great having the option to cook rather than eat out every night, and there was an excellent supermarket just a few doors away. We spent far more time there than we would have done in a hotel, which made it much better value. Francesca was lovely - really friendly and helpful but not intrusive at all. I wouldn't stay anywhere else in Florence. Can't wait to go back. Chris Taylor.

Ciao Francesca, finally I am writing to share such a special and unique accommodation experience. We stayed here in early January 2013, had a fabulous apartment and our teenage son was impressed with the spatial surroundings and to enjoy the wonderful atmosphere of traditional Italian buildings. Truly fantastic location, across the lane to the Accademia and lovely walks to the centre of Florence. We had amazing weather and the sun shone every day. Who wants to stay in an impersonal Hotel when you can have this kind of unique experience in one of the most beautiful cities in the world. Mille gracie. A presto.

Ciao!!
thank you so much to stay with Us! we are very happy you enjoyed your stay in Florence ...in january usually it's very cold but you was very lucky to find good weather .
our city is wonderful all season but during the winter you can enjoy truly everything as the museums are quiet and without line outside and the cafe and restaurants are so comfortable and cozy!
see you soon!

Best wishes

Very good option for a family stay in Florence. Location is excellent, right in front of the Galleria where Michaelangelo's David is exhibited and very close to the Duomo (cathedral). It's also near San Marco square where buses for Fiesole depart. The apartment is comfortable, nicely decorated (paintings in the roof of the linig room!) and the kitchen very complete. There is a small supermarket few meters away where you can get what you need for cooking (but it closes early) Owner Francesca is friendly and helpful. Keep in mind that cleaning during your stay is limited to stretching the beds. The only drawback from our 3.night stay is that, precisely, garbage was not removed until we left. Otherwise it's an excellent choice which I would recommend.

Thanks for taking the time to write. We shall make every effort to be clearer in our literature that the rooms are made-over only every three days, and how to dispose of the room trash. Thank you for pointing this out. We hope that one day you might come back. It was wonderful to meet with you.

We returned for a stay in the San Giovani apartment in February 2013. We stayed here in 2010 when our son was studying in Florence and were so happy to return because our daughter is studying there now. We love everything about the Alfani. The apartments, location, Francesca and her family!! It is a beautiful and elegant residence in a fabulous location. If you want to feel like you are "home" while staying in Florence, this is the place! My daughter will be staying in March while her boyfriend comes to visit. Francesca, we miss it already and hope it wont be three years before we are back!

The Jordan Family

Room Tip: The San Giovai was perfect because it has two bedrooms and two bathrooms. The large bedroom is huge with a private bath, and accommodated our three children easily.
