My partner and I stayed for 3 nights and just loved the Riva Lofts. We will absolutely stay there the next time we're in Florence and will recommnend it to all of our friends.

Don't be concerned about the location. True - its not in the center of town, but that's one of the best things about it! The tram stop is literally a 5 minute walk (maybe 4) and the tram runs from 6am to midnight - we never waited more than 6 minutes for a train. Once on the tram, you're in the center of town in 10 minutes, where you can then walk to everything. We never took a taxi the entire time we were in Florence - day or night.

The property is beautiful, very peaceful and calm which was perfect after having just spent time in the center of Rome. The rooms are large and interesting and have all of the amenities you want or need. The "living room" was a great place to relax and the breakfast service is great - coffee, tea, juice, yoghurt, pastries, hard-cooked eggs, bread, etc. It was so nice not to have to find a place for breakfast every morning - great way to start the day.

The staff was incredible - they were so nice and welcoming and had plenty of recommendations for restaurants and sights to see. We took their recommendations for lunch and dinner most days and each time, they were excellent.

This place is a great find - I'm just worried that the word will get out and we won't be able to get a room next time we're in Florence!

A short cycle or tram ride from the centre of bustling Florence. This place feels like a calm oasis. We had two interconnecting suites for 5 of us and the children were made very welcome. The decoration is comfortable, thoughtful and chic and a real contrast to renaissance Florence. The staff is extremely helpful and friendly. There is no restaurant but a wonderful morning room with freshly laid out breakfast where you can help yourself to drinks throughout the day via an honesty bar. There is a lovely pool and garden. The staff provided excellent suggestions (and made the bookings) for dining.

We'd flown into Pisa and taken the train to Florence. The tram is 3 stops away or a 10 minute taxi ride. Excellent....we're definitely be back and good value for money.

We stayed for three nights at the Riva Lofts at the start of our honeymoon and from the word go we felt really welcomed. The staff were really friendly and helpful at all times. They recommended a range of great places to eat and visit in and around Florence. We liked how the Riva team had thought of the nice little touches such as the free flip flops, the fruit bowel, the free soft drinks in the room, the bikes which you could borrow for free for the day to cycle around the city. The garden was lovely which had a few funky sculptures in it and a nice clean pool. Sadly the weather was not that great during our stay so we were unable to go for a swim. A really nice stay - thank you!

As a rule we never travel during high season, so this recent trip was a big exception. I was fortunate to be invited to stay at Riva Lofts at the end of a very busy week in and around Florence. Although the weather was unseasonably hot, this place was cool from the get go. Serene and artful grounds and rooms were a refreshing alternative to the too-often historically decorated more traditional accomodations. While not in the center of tourist central, it is an easy tram ride into town. I love traveling and feelng like I am a bit closer to an authentic experience, and simply walking in the neighborhood accomplishes this. The rooms are tastefully spare, but lacking none of the requisite amenities, and the service is friendly, accomodating, but only as much as one wants or needs. Great recommendations of restaurants, markets, shops, and museum exhibitions satisfied all the touristic needs, but I must say given the extreme heat, and a level of exhaustion, I fell fast asleep and had a most restful stay. I had a great dinner, booked by the hotel at a place that my cousin, a Florentine, had not yet visited.

The grounds and common areas are similarly lovely with great artwork perfectly placed. One of the coolest details were the glowing shells that illuminated the lawn upon my return Riva Lofts was the perfect ending to a perfect week in the Florence area, and I appreciate Alice and her staff's great hospitality. I am looking forward to a return visit I hope in the not too distant future.

I stayed at Riva lofts for a week in August with my girlfriend and honestly, I don't really have anything bad to say about the place.

We were welcomed by an extremely friendly and helpful staff.
Do you need a recommendation for a restaurant or bar?
Do you want to book a table at a restaurant?
...

They'll do it for you.

The rooms are pretty nice and modern. They feature a free minibar with coke, juices, water, ...
The swimming pool is not extremely big, but more than enough for a 'hotel' with about 8-10 rooms? There's a living room which you're free to use and where you can relax, read some magazines, have breakfast... The living room also features an 'honesty bar' with funky lemonades and then some.

Speaking about breakfast, it's normally served from 8-11 am, but if you ask nicely, you might be able to get some leftovers later during the day (I'm not the kind of guy that gets up at 9am).

Riva lofts is not located in the center, but there's a tram stop like 5 minutes walking away, which gets you to the center really fast.
Riva also offers some second hand bikes which you are free to use anytime you want. This is the one negative remark I'll have to make: the bikes suck. Only a couple of brakes that do their job and I don't think there's a single one with working lights.
But even without the bikes, Riva still gets a 5/5 from me. If they just didn't offer the free bikes, I'd have nothing to complain about.

I would definitely recommend Riva Lofts.

To an extent we took the hotel due to availabity problems as it was not in the centre of the city.We chose well though. It ticked all the boxes. It was quiet, air conditioned and out of the hustle and bustle of the town but still next to the river.
We borrowed their bikes and peddled into town which takes 10 minuites and found the whole experiance ideal. The breakfast was a bit thin but frankly the staff were great, the rooms ideal and the honesty bar endearing. The swimming pool was perfect in the hot August climate.Parking is a bit limited but hayho hot a deal breaker. As its a small hotel they were flexible and allowed us to put our bags into one of the two rooms so we could stay a little longer into the afternoon to contunue sight seeing. The lady in reception gave us perfect local knowledge including marking up a local city map and booking a restaurant for us which was a good choice. All in all a great place to stay and not too expensive.

Room Tip: Arrive early if you want to take some limited parking outside but otherwise enjoy.

Riva lofts is an amazing place set close to the city but yet far enough away that you feel like you are staying in the countryside. The rooms are well appointed with plenty of room, the tram ride to the city was very quick and simple, and Alice the general manager is fantastic with a wealth of information when it comes to living like a local and not getting caught in the tourist traps of firenze. We wish we had longer to stay to really relax and enjoy the pool and garden area more.
Thanks Alice and team!
