When you think of Florence you probably think of a hotel in the heart of the city. Well think again for Eden Rock is a garden of cool away from the heat and the crowds. At the same time the historic centre is easily accessed via a 15 minute bus ride at a cost of 1.5euro. So you definitely do not need a car if you are just doing Florence.

My wife and I stayed for four nights and though we had plans to eat at different restaurants this quickly changed to dining at the Rock each evening. The food was excellent and the service provided by Allesandro was first class. In fact all of the staff at this hotel are among the most helpful that we have ever come across.

The room we had was a junior suite and whilst it provided for all our needs we wished that we had taken one of the suites with a balcony. That said we did not spend all that much time in the room as the pool area was a great place to chill!

Thanks again to all at the Eden Rock. We are already planning our return next year and are busily recommending this hidden gem to family and friends.

Room Tip: Get a room with a balcony

Where do I start... My husband and I stayed at Eden Rock for 4 nights before our wedding. We had the most amazing time. The staff at Eden Rock go above and beyond and are so happy and friendly. We feel like we have some new Italian friends after staying at this hotel.

The pool is larger than photos make it appear, and is always clean and a comfortable temperature. The pool was normally quite quiet as I think most guests went into the city during the day. We stayed in one of the smaller rooms, but it was perfectly nice and we had gorgeous views of green Florence hills. We ate regularly at the restaurant and every meal we had was lovely and served with a smile and great wine advice from Alessandro. Breakfast was buffet and very tasty with lots to choose from. My husband is gluten intolerant, and they provided us with gluten free bread and helped with selecting appropriate meals.

In terms of getting into the city, just ask reception for a lift to the bus stop they never minded and then get a 10 min bus ride (its really easy, although we found it hard to leave our gorgeous hotel).
On the way back from town the stop is just outside the hotel so you cant miss it.

We had a romantic and relaxing stay even though there were families with young children enjoying their stay too.

Free wifi in the room and in the pool was handy :)

I love this hotel and can't wait to visit again soon.

Room Tip: As Eden rock is in the hills, remember mosquito spay for the evenings.

We finish a week in Tuscany with our two children (7-9) with a two days stay at the Eden Rock - over looking Florence.

A good location if you have a car (eur15 parking a day though while you have no alternative!). The alternative is a bus...

Everybody there is really nice - service very efficient except for the lady in charge of bfast who was clearly un happy about her job...

The view is effectively stunning BUT the hotel is located just above a busy street meaning constant traffic noise.

We stayed in a nice family suite with two separate rooms over looking the valley and mountains. The bathroom is not great and the noise clear disturbance to sleep. Really not quiet

The pool and bfast are just avg in our view but we had two nice dinners there - wine particularly

We stayed in 2012 and returned in August 2014, to the same room the Imperial Suite which is great for a family of 4, 2 bedrooms/bathrooms, great views.
We had dinner at the hotel once which was very good & quite reasonable, breakfast much improved on 2012.
Alessandro, Betty, Daniele & Walter all excellent, very helpful and friendly.
We will be back!

Most times, when you are really looking forward to staying somewhere, it disappoints. However, when it exceeds your expectations, it has to be praised. This place is perfection. Situated a fast cheap and easy 10 minute bus ride €1.20 from Florence (and a staff member will drive you down the hill go catch the bus) it is in a spectacular location with quite amazing views of Florence. Daniele and his staff are absolutely committed to excellence in service and food. We stayed in the panoramic suite and it was awesome. Breakfast and dinner are served poolside, and there is no closing time for the beautiful pool (there is also a poolside bar). Two things that must be mentioned are that due to a confused cabbie I left a bag in the taxi, Daniele did not stop trying to find out what had happened the whole time we were there, ringing the taxi companies etc, exceptional service. I also mentioned that I was our 8th anniversary the day we arrived, we received a free bottle of absolutely delightful Tuscan wine. If in Florence and you don't mind not being in the centre of things, just stay here, you will be thrilled that you did!

Room Tip: Get a room with a terrace, the view is extraordinary

This is a MUST STAY! The food is absolutely incredible, and the service is unbelievable. The rooms, the view, everyone is so friendly!! My wife and I had the most incredible stay and it was our highlight of our trip throughout Italy. If everyone operated a business like this the world would be a better place. Truly incredible, you feel as though you are leaving your family. We cant wait to go back and visit.

Room Tip: We had the panaromic suite... get a bottle of Chianti and enjoy the view from your balcony day or ni...

Any machine is only as good as it's operators in this case the team at Eden Rock were fantastic.
I tip my hat to Danielle,Betty and alisandro infact all staff we dealt with.
Even the touch of leaving you the 700 yards to the bus stop.
Setting supberb .. staff equally so and the whole experience ... cant be faulted.
Roll on next year.
