If you're looking for a mega hotel with a frou frou room with lots of bells and whistles, a big screen TV with in room games, & a mini bar, don't come here. If you're looking for a clean, quiet, comfortable room in the heart of Flornece at an affordable rate, this is the place for you. My compadre and I stayed 2 nights here and were extremely pleased. Room was very clean, bed was comfy, wifi was strong, access was easy, shower was hot and large enough for us, staff was extremely helpful and attentive to our needs. Highly recommend. It's literally in the heart of Florence. A minute walk from Uffizi. AAA++++++ would sleep and use the bathroom there again.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a private bathroom that is in the room.

Our party of 6 adults stayed here while in Florence. Some of the rooms are small, but all are comfortable and clean. The hotel itself is right in the middle of Florence—just steps away from the Piazza della Signoria. Our room overlooked Il Porcellino, the bronze boar whose snout tourists rub. The location is unbeatable. You really feel like you are part of Florentine life while staying at this hotel. A great value!

Tips: to get to the hotel reception take the lift to level 4. the lift is small (2 ppl + luggage max) and is located when you first enter the building right at the back of the bottom level.
The hotel is not well sign posted- it is just a small A4-A5 plaque on the wall outside the buzzer at one end of the street (the opposite end of the Chanel store). we had to ask a local cafe where it was exactly!

Pros:

location is bang in the centre of everything. we walked everywhere. great if you are only in florence for a few days.
clean
nice staff- we were nackered after a big night and couldnt move, the guy at the desk called up indian for us to be delivered to our room. life saver.

Cons

2 single beds stuck together
construction view when we stayed
external toilet (the term private external bathroom is basically a fancy way of saying shared toilet)

Pay no mind to a few of the negative reviews from people seemingly expecting the Four Seasons for what is a very affordable room rate.

This place was a joy to stay at and the owners wentrancest the best I have encountered in over 30 countries that I've visited. They went above and beyond to ensure that we were happy and were great to talk to also.

The location is second to none; situated on the 4th floor of a building practically in Piazza della Signoria. The Uffizi is a 30 second walk away and the Duomo just a few minutes. The entrance is difficult to see, (it is the street just opposite the market area with the pig statue), it is street number 3 and looks like just a standard door along the wall, ring the buzzer with the hotels name on it and you will be let in.

The rooms themselves are spacious and comfortable... certainly more than I expect from a 1 star hotel. To put it simply... I have scarcely come across such a great value option in peak season in such a superb location anywhere in the world. Look no further.

I stayed here with my daughter last week for three nights and found it a great little hotel. The owners were extremely helpful and provided extras like a kettle on request. They sorted our train times out for the return journey to Pisa and were available at peak times. The rooms we had were clean and comfortable and the location is perfect. It is just off Piazza della signoria (100m) and 200m from Ponte Vecchio.

First of all it is hard to find and get into. On the plus side it is in a great position, centrally located to every thing and has good Internet service and clean bathroom but that is where it finishes. Very small odd shaped room (6 ) with a very small wardrobe that sits out of the corner that you have to squeeze between the bed and it. No air conditioning until Jan and the ceiling fan did not work. To let some air into the room you had to leave window open but the noise outside until 2 am was deafening . No TV, No fridge, there was not even a fridge, plates, cutlery, mugs, bottle opener or kettle for boiling water available on premises. Towels were not towling they were tea towels and very thin sheeting squares. Strange! The bed was ok and linen fine but pillows worn flat. Curtains were dirty and water glasses were not cleaned in 3 days. This should not be called a hotel, it is just a room even back packers have access to more facilities. Stairs to the fourth floor are dark and unlit at night, dangerous. Proprieters not very friendly or helpful.

Room Tip: Not sure there is one

We are sorry that our guest did not like our hotel as it is our priority that our guests are comfortable. We would like to answer the review of this guest to clarify a few things:

On the request of the guest we offered to provide AC but they declined,

All the things like water-kettle, plates etc. are available on request, it is not standard to have these things in a hotel room (not only in the 1-star-hotels like ours).

Our towels are normal standard and the pillows are not "worn flat". Anyway if our guests prefer a second pillow it is enough to ask for it.

If the stairs by night are too dark it is enough to put on the light or take the elevator.

In conclusion what I feel regarding this review is that it is not very fair to reserve a 1-star-hotel expecting the facilities of a 3-star-hotel, and blame the hotel for it. On our web-sites (our personal one and different internet agencies) it is stated what kind of facilities we offer.

To all our future guests: we are happy to receive constructive suggestions on how to improve our services! :)

We stayed for 3 nights and were pleasantly surprised by the friendly and helpful staff and the cleanliness of the hotel.

It goes without saying that the hotel's location could not be better, as it is near to all of the major sites in the centre of Florence.

Room Tip: Driving in the centre of Florence can be challenging (be sure to read up on this!), but if you do tr...
