“Wonderful Stay at this beautiful hotel”
Reviewed 15 February 2014 via mobile

Stayed here by myself for six night from January 29th to Feb 4th and had a wonderful time in this beautiful hotel situated in a great location over looking the Arno River . The staff at the hotel, were all so very friendly and welcoming and made me feel very comfortable. I had a lovely large and very clean room with a beautiful view overlooking the river. The hotel is furnished with some beautiful antiques. And as a very cosy feel to it. The breakfast room is lovely and serves a very nice breakfast with very good coffee. In the summer there is a beautiful terrace at the hotel overlooking the river where breakfast can be served. The hotel is in a very good location a short walk along the river will bring you to some of the main attractions of Florence like the Uffizi Gallery and the Piazza della Signoria and the famous Ponte Vecchio Bridge. Florence is a very compact city and great to walk in with a wonderful pedestrianised shopping area. The hotel is close enough to all the main sites of Venice but just nicely situated from all the hustle and bustle. Behring the hotel there are some great local restaurants they are very reasonable and serve lovely food. The hotel is situated near to the very nice artesian area of hitch is like Florence's left bank and is really nice for. A having a stroll, around with some lovely shops selling leather, beautiful Florentine stationary like beautiful pens, journals and frames. Well worth a wander around. Also don't miss the walk up behind the hotel to Michael Angelo's Square for fantastic views overlooking all over Florence. Loved my visit here and would definitely stay here again the next time I am in Florence. Spotless clean hotel and very good value for money. Also great staying in the off season not having the hustle and bustle of waiting in cues to go into the museums was great.

My standard room was taken up by a large bed, small desk, fridge and armoire. Not a lot of room but this was very clearly stated in the room description so there were no surprises. Standard tile floors, and a beautiful new bathroom. I faced the Arno (the hotel is set back from the river by a small park and not all rooms face the river!). The place was spotless. Breakfast included, and was typical. Staff extremely nice and very courteous. Staying on the other side of the river is great - the city is small and you are not any further from the main sights. I would certainly stay again.

Room Tip: Ask for room facing the Arno. However, I also believe rooms in the back on the street are quieter.

This was one of the best places we stayed in our month long trip in Italy. When we first arrived, we were a bit worried because the place seemed to be undergoing renovations and feared there would be noise and dirt around. But our fears were quickly allayed. This was a great place to stay. Competitive rates, great location, extremely comfortable rooms - all very well sized - sensational breakfast and incredibly friendly staff. An absolutely winner and a place we'd go back to again. Highly recommended.

I recently spent 15 nights at the Hotel Silla located in the Oltrarno District. What a delightful find. Each and everyone of the staff were so kind and helpful...there was not enough they could do for you. There was a slight problem with my room; not only was the room changed but it was to an upgraded one at that. Laura presides over the breakfast room and makes the best cappacinos.
The location is excellent for visiting the major attractions whether walking or bus 23, but the Oltrarno is worth exploration on its own off the beaten path. Historic sites, beautiful walks, restaurants, and cafes.
I look forward to returning to Hotel Silla!

The location is FANTASTIC!! You are far enough away from the crowds yet within walking distance of EVERYTHING!! Room was good with a beautiful view of Florence. Breakfast was nothing out of the ordinary for Europe. They had great coffee. Cappuccinos were a part of the free breakfast too. Our only concern was that they required us to leave our room key when we left the building?? They stated that if there were a fire that this is how they would know who was in the building. We didn't like it because it let them know if there was anyone in the room. That was our only concern with this hotel. Other than that, it was very pleasant!

The Hotel Silla is across the river from the main part of town, but still within walking distance of many of the attractions. For example, the Uffizi is about ten minutes away. Also, bus 23 stops very close and will take you to the Duomo. Good, inexpensive restaurants are nearby. The hotel is immaculate, comfortable, has free wi-fi, and good breakfast. The best part of the hotel is the staff. The people are friendly, kind, and very helpful.

I came here to visit Florence, and this hotel provide good value yet good services. I have the front desk helped me book my tour to Pisa and he helped me to take care everything and let me know when the tour will pick me up. Breakfast are free, and I like the ham and egg. Only minus side is that it is not at the center of Florence but you can use the bus to get around.
