“Not worth the trip...”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 June 2014

We had heard so much about the infamous "Harry's Bar" in Venice, home of the Bellini so we had to try it. The wait staff is rude and not helpful at all (Q: "what do you recommend between the fish and the beef?" A: "How would I know what you would like?"). The Bellinis were very good though at 16 euro not worth it. The food was disappointing and we couldn't wait to get out of there. Stop by, take a picture of the sign outdoors, but save your money for other restaurants in Venice-this one is not worth it at all.

“Extremely overpriced for lousy cuisine in ugly, too pink decor. Don't waste your time or €.”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 June 2014

Recommended by our hotel concierge (I highly suspect that the concierge is obligated to highly recommend this restaurant to hotel guests as the Tornabuoni Beacci hotel & Harry's Bar are owned by the same person/company), it was a HUGE disappointment. Memorable only for our worst meal in Italy -- tremendously overpriced, extremely limited menu, w/ overcooked pasta served w/ fragments of swordfish & fragments of scallops. A selection of only four starters . . . in Italy??? It's Harry's Bar, yet there is no beer on tap, only in bottles. Totally felt like we were fools to have trusted our concierge who blatantly misguided us. Do not waste your time or euros.

Was an amazing experience. The food is excellent and the staff are very hostile. Dont miss it and preferable to go for a dinner to sit outside and enjoy the nice view

“Rude”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 April 2014

Sadly after visiting Harry's Bar this week we agree the staff are very rude!
Such a shame as good position in the sun.
Please learn some manners and remember who the customers are
Thank you

“Much hyped but sadly, hugely overrated”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 11 April 2014

One would have thought that just maybe in an interior whose decor is reportedly 'frozen' since 1952( why?), at least with a reputation as being one of the most famous restaurants in the world....the menu would ALSO be frozen...but set in the dreadful culinary past is most surely was. Being guests for whom the menu had been pre-determined, we had no selection choice, but so-so Beef Carpaccio (drizzled Japanese-style!) didn't augur well at the beginning--despite the much-hyped Bellini being really good (as it was prepared using fresh peach pulp). Beyond belief was everyone's gasp for breath when the main course turned out to be a dreadful English boarding school version of Curry & rice! In Italy! THIS it transpired, was one of Harry's Bar signature dishes, & had been trumpeted by the bar itself as being one of the experiences to be had there as..'unforgettable'. Indeed one cannot quibble with that---but sadly it was "UNFORGETTABLE" for the WRONG REASON!
One of the most laughable dishes ever to be put in front of this writer in 50 years, one could only marvel at the stupidity of this dish ever appearing,,,if its true its 'original'...but to KEEP it going is beyond comprehension. A dismal dessert & turgid coffee finished the luncheon ..& us! # footnote: They promote the idea one has a view overlooking the Ponte Veccio--this like the curry is a scurrilous joke..AT the bar its impossible to see the bridge--only by sticking one's neck out of the window UPSTAIRS may one actuall SEE it with any clarity. Do Not Go There...unless you suffer all this for the famed cocktail. THAT they did do well, but only that!.
