I stayed at 1900 Artevita for 5 nights in the single room, which was exactly as it appears on the B&B's website. Spacious and spotless with a cute furnished balcony overlooking the street, however, the electronic metal window shutter was very effective at blocking out traffic noise and light enabling me to sleep like a log every night. Bed and pillows were very comfortable. Wardrobe had plenty of hangers. WiFi signal was excellent. The external private bathroom was big with a roomy shower with hot water available no matter what time of the day I showered. Breakfast was plentiful, with tea and coffee-making facilities available all day. A communal fridge for guests' use was also available. I loved the non-touristy location on the edge of Oltrarno. Several bus stops within 2 minutes, including to the city and Piazzale Michaelangelo. Approximately 20 minutes walk to Ponte Vecchio; 5-10 minutes to lively San Ferdiano and Santo Spirito where there are lots of great restaurants, wine bars and coffee shops. Lovely area in which to aimlessly ramble and discover. Last, but certainly not least, your hosts, brothers Leonardo and Stefano. Endlessly patient, friendly, courteous, helpful and knowledgeable, they are ambassadors for their city and tourism in general. Excellent "old fashioned" customer service which, unfortunately, is sometimes absent from the tourism industry these days. Thank you both for the enjoyable chats and the kindness and generosity of spirit extended to a stranger. I would stay here again and wholeheartedly recommend it to otherers. Deirdre

This bed and breakfast was absolutely fantastic. The beds are extremely comfortable and Stefano and Leonardo were so helpful and friendly. They recommended places to eat outside of the tourist areas and were eager to help us with any questions we had. It was by far the best place we stayed on our 10 day trip to Italy. I definitely recommend booking this place. I plan on staying here when I return to Florence!

We stayed here for three days while visiting Florence. It's outside of the historical city center and right in the middle of where the locals actually live. It was fun finding out what's behind one of Italy's huge brown doors. We took the bus from the train station and it dropped us right in front of the door of the B&B. We also took the bus back to the train station with no problem. The service was very nice. Once we arrived we received a map, information about the bus, and food recommendations that also included discounts for those who stayed at the B&B. The room was beautiful with a table right in the center for us to have breakfast just like the pictures. The bed was very comfortable. I notice Italians like to have extra firm beds but it was softer here. We had a few issues with the wi-fi here because the signal was a little weak in our room. We could still check our emails and the like but found it difficult to look up some of our connections or connect to others through facetime or skype. We didn't say in the room too long because there was so much to do so it wasn't too bad. Overall, I quite enjoyed my stay here.

Do not hesitate to book here, the beds are wonderfully comfortable , breakfast is more than enough to set you up for the day with a selection of Fruits, pastries, yogurts ,cereal ,toast and coffee/tea, there is a fridge for your use as well, there is a supermarket about 100m away that you can use if like us you want a bottle of Chianti before going out in the evenings. It is thankfully in a quieter part of Florence we found the center very busy, there is a bus stop outside the no 12 takes you up to the piazzale michelangelo and the no 13 from there will take you right back into the B& B or stay on it for the center of town. The no 6 bus about 200 m away will take you into the center of town , I must add if you want to walk into town you can but save your legs for climbing the Dome and the Bell Tower, we took advice from Leonardo and Stefano who I must add are very friendly and helpful ,and chose to eat at several of the restaurants they recommended we were not disappointed the food was very good and the owners helped us decipher the menu.

Room Tip: We had a room at the back which had a small balcony so we used to eat our Breakfast here every morni...

My wife and I stayed here this past weekend for 3 nights. We had unknowingly passed a sign when looking for the B & B that restricted traffic into the city center. I explained where I had parked to Leonardo, who told me that I would be fined. He then called the rental car agency, explained what had happened and proceeded to help arrange parking in a nearby garage to avoid me being ticketed. The location was very convenient to most of the sites in Florence. Within 20-30 minutes of walking you could be to almost all the major sites. The breakfast offered plenty of variety. The rooms are spacious, clean, and have balconies with seating. Everything you could ask for in a B & B.

This B&B is in quieter part of town, but still within walking distance to major sites. Also bus number 12 from SMN train station drops you off right in front of the B&B (Stefano the host will provide details on bus and restaurant options via email prior to arrival). Bus 12 will also take you to Piazza Michelangelo and San Miniato which can't be missed. Very clean and accommodating B&B, Stefano was immensely helpful in helping me sort out lost luggage, and Leonardo was pulling expresso drinks for bfast. Nearby supermarket and food truck selling awesome burgers (Italian style) are good choices for quick, inexpensive bite. There is also a small frig in bfast area for use by guests.

Room Tip: Single room has private bath just outside the room and small balcony.
