I have stayed in the Martina Suite twice and rented from Mariangela three times. Her apartments are lovely and she prides herself on taking care of her renters and creating pleasant environments in which they can stay comfortably. This apartment has everything one could want, a very small, but quite functional, kitchen, a washing machine, air conditioning, etc. It is close to a small supermarket, a nice cheese shop, and the Piazza Santo Spirito, where there is a morning market and vibrant nightlife. Located on a small side street, very little traffic passes by the apartment and therefore it is far more quiet than many Florentine apartments I have rented in the past. The only caveat is that sometimes groups gather outside the restaurant on the other side of the street, which can get a little noisy at times, but this is not a constant problem and it is one that is easily remedied by closing the front windows. Finally, the Oltrarno, the area in which this apartment is located is less touristy than other locations, which is a plus if one is looking for an authentic Italian experience.
