We had a great stay at the apartment, the kids especially liked the loft, it was very clean and had all necessities. The location was good with walking distance to most sights.
Manuela and Francesca were very nice hosts who are willing to help and the possibility to park our rental card was a great plus.
Thanks again Manuela!
If you are seeking a clean, peaceful and safe place to stay in Florence. If you want a neighbourhood with restaurants, artisans, historic buildings, chuches and art, chic shopping, local markets, and small, neighbourhood pizzerias. If you would like your own private garden where you can have your breakfast while listening to church bells ringing. If you want to be mesmerised by the parking skills of Florentine drivers. If you secretly want to be a local among locals, then Appartamento Oltrano San Frediano is your kind of place. Its 15 minutes walk from Santa Maria Novella station. Its a short walk to Ponte Veccio, the Pitti Palace and the Uffizi. You can eat at nearby Santa Spiritu piazza. You can catch the bus to Sienna just around the corner. You can wander along the Arno, attend the local opera recital, buy too much at the local shops. Everything you need is provided in the appartment. Even the next door neighbour's cat ambles in for a visit. Best of all, you get to meet hosts Francesca and Manuela who answer emails and phone calls instantly, who will assist in whatever way they can, and who are informed, enthusiastic, funny and extrordinarily helpful. Don't even think about it. This is the place to stay. I know I'll be back. I just hope you haven't booked it before me. Now, where was I? Oh yes. Go and watch the local crafts people at work. Check out the San Frediano 15th century town wall. Share a joke with Francesca and Munuela. Return each night to your home away from home. Be entranced.
The apartment was situated in a quiet side street which was ideal but proved difficult to find because the street name was the same as the main road and our driver had to keep stopping and asking the way!. Manuella was there to welcome us and had provided some basic food supplies plus a bottle of fizz for our Anniversary and she had also booked a wonderful restaurant for our Anniversary meal. The apartment was spacious and had everything required, with a pretty garden to sit in and enjoy our meals. The city centre was a 15 minute walk across the river and there were plenty of eateries even closer. We enjoyed our stay.
For the price, I really don't think you'll find somewhere better than this great apartment. A 15 minute walk from the Uffizi and the centre of the city, it was in a perfect location and also hidden away from the more touristy parts of town.
The apartment had everything you could need and was very spacious. There was plenty of room for the two of us, a nice comfortable bed and a big bathroom and living area. My favourite feature was the lovely little garden outside complete with grape vines and pretty flowers and I would sit out here most mornings with a coffee and a pastry.
Manuella came to meet us in the street nearby to show us to the house (it's actually on a side street off the main one) and her and Francesca were really helpful. They left a great list of suggested places to eat and visit which came in very handy- the restaurants they recommended were amazing! When we told them we had an early flight home, Manuela even offered to book us a taxi. Couldn't have asked for more. Great house, perfect hosts.
