“THE hotel to stay in Florence”
Reviewed 5 July 2011

This hotel is an OASIS in Florence. BEAUTIFUL inside and the gardens and pool are amazing. delicious breakfast and room service. STAFF is so attentive and friendly. They go OUT OF THEIR WAY to make your stay enjoyable. We brought our kids, and they had their own slippers in the room, toys a t-shirt and cute sheets on the crib. The concierge was amazing. Our 2 year old left his little toy plane at breakfast, and they mailed it back to our home. This hotel would be great for couples or families. Be sure and check out the pool and spa!

Room Tip: all the rooms are great, but ones viewing the pool are best

We stayed here for two nights and it's a beautiful hotel with super welcoming and helpful staff. Considering it's a converted historic building the rooms are large, beautifully renovated and very comfortable - the huge garden area is a beautiful respite from the sometimes frenetic city. The location is a bit of a walk (10 minutes) from the major attractions but not so far that you'd need a car or taxi. in Spring Firenze is unfortunately overrun by very noisy tourists but if you can ignore that, and the countless tacky souvenir shops and cafe's offering "english breakfast", it is a beautiful city was fantastic restaurants and cultural experiences - you just need to dig under the surface (and ask a local - or concierge - for recommendations). As for the hotel free wi-fi would be good - when you're paying €1,000 a night I think it should be thrown in!

We stay in Conventino which has its entrance in Via Gino Capponi. A gentle 20 minutes stroll max from the Duomo whose illuminated dome may be seen from the gardens at night. An oasis from the crowds and very quiet. Pool very welcome.Have not used Spa but gym well equipped. Informal eating at the pool restaurant and from the Bar.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a view over the garden.

While the public areas of the hotel and the gardens are lovely, the rooms are standard Four Seasons (well appointed but not special). Our 1300 Euro/night "executive king suite" was described as follows: "Executive Suites measure on average 699-sq.-ft., and offer captivating views of the surrounding gardens and neighborhood. The spacious living room includes a large working desk, sofa and armchairs. For complete privacy, the master bedroom is separated from the living room, and the large marble bathroom includes a double-vanity. Some bathrooms feature a free-standing bathtub." The "captivating view" (see photo) was into another wall of the hotel and the roof and offered no view whatsoever. When I pointed this out to the check-in clerk, he responded that the hotel was fully booked. When my husband mentioned this at check-out, the representative told him that we had been upgraded at check-in, which I think was absolutely untrue (the size and layout of the room were as described). In addition, being charged an additional 24 Euros/day for (faulty) WiFi internet access on a room that costs almost $1900/night is ludicrous "nickle and diming." The hotel is also slightly out of the "center" of Florence (an extra 10-15 minute walk).

We stayed here with our tween daughter as part of our Europe trip. The hotel was on a larger piece of property and the grounds were lovely. The pool was nice and the spa looked great but we did not partake. Our room was clean and they brought in an extra bed for our daughter. The room was well kept and the staff was nice. We had laundry done and the did a great job but of course it was scary expensive. You can walk everywhere from there so the location was good.

Absolutely stunning grounds. Sitting in the lobby drinking bellinis was a real treat. I wa sin town for a friends birthday party and the day after the party I had a few friends over for cocktails a a walk around the grounds--it did not disappoint. The only negative is that the hotel is far from central Florence while I love walking in Florence--on a night after booze it was a hassle to walk home Yes I could have taken a cab but why take a cab in Firenze. The exceptionally well appointed room with the usual slumber inducing frette sheets. Specially made toiletries in the bathroom. The palacial sensibility of the sitting area. The whole place blew me away but was not intimidating. Plus after only 1 night everyone already knew my name so as I walked through the door, I was greeted by name. How very old school Four Seasons....

Wow. This is one amazing hotel that will leave you in awe over the architecture, the rooms, the service ... oh, and the room-rates. If money is no object and you want the wow-factor that goes along with an incredible resort property, than look no further than this gem in Florence.
In typical Four Seasons fashion, the customer service was top-notch. From addressing me by name at every opportunity, to asking if they could assist me with anything during my stay, the staff truly shine here. The rooms are amazing, and the best feature I liked about it was the amazing bathrooms and amenities. My room had amazing natural light, a separate walk-in area, and the windows that opened up to the courtyard really capped off an experience at this hotel.
The Four Seasons is not close-by the main areas like the Duomo or the Via del Corso, but all within an easy 10-12 minute walk. Nonetheless, it actually is nice NOT to be in the core of the high-traffic areas, as there are, in my opinion, too many people to deal with.
If you're looking for that wow-factor while in Florence, I'm not sure you need to look any further if your budget allows. This hotel is amazing.

Room Tip: every room is a fantastic room!
