“Extraordinary beauty and comfort with surprisingly good value world class restaurant”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 February 2009

Having stayed in a number of Four Seasons Hotels around the world, this has gone to the top of my list. The restuarant is exceptional in a city with surprisingly few top-notch restaurants. They have done an amazing job restoring a historical palazzo and the rooms feature stunning fresoes and furnishings. The 5 acre garden is wonderful and will be a real treat when the weather warms up. The concierge can get you in to all the special places that makes sightseeing in Florenece a real treat. Great spa and pool too.

I didn't stay at the hotel, but rather dined, drank and had tea at the Atrium Bar on more than one occasion. Going to several Four Seasons worldwide, I can say that Florence doesn't rate up there... Lisbon, Chicago and even Boston rate as the best service in the company. Granted, its not even a year open for Florence, but little things could have been done here and there to make up for it. Please don't stay away from the place, although the Borgo Pinto area has no shopping, no major or minor sites nor churches. Further, the dining in the neighboring area is sparce and residences are filled with student hostels. I know all this sounds negative, but please do plenty of research before booking your trip. I did...and I stayed somewhere else.

Stayed here Feb 13-17. All the great reviews are true! This place is a gem and one of THE BEST hotels I have ever stayed at before. Service is top notch. Everyone goes above and beyond for you whether is it the doorman, registration, maids, bartender, or concierge. For example, we didn't have tickets to the Accademia to see the the Statue of David and they offered to send somone over to wait in the ticket line for us. Unreal!

I had the basic room which was far from basic. Tons of space: walk in closet, king bad, & huge bathroom w/shower and a huge tub!!!!

If you have the chance take a cooking class from the Executive Chef Vito. He is a real treat to watch and the food was amazing.......the veal was excellent! Make sure to walk the grounds out back. My only regret is that I did not fit in a massage during my visit!

5+++ Stars for this property!!!!!

The Four Seasons in Florence was simply amazing. The service was great. We had a hard bed our first night. When we called the next morning, they delivered the new mattress. It was the most amazing mattress ever. It was like sleeping on clouds.

We loved the waiters in the Atrium bar. It was a treat to see them every night. The decor of the hotel was outstanding. When you walked into the dining room, it took our breath away. It was the same way with the spa. Very Very Elegant. The gym facility is top-notch. If you get a chance, you should definitely try to stay there once in your life.

I am always skeptical when I read reviews saying “this is the best place ever.” I immediately wonder what people are comparing it to, what their travel history is, etc. As someone who has traveled all over the world, stayed in some of the best hotels in the world, and regularly seeks out Four Seasons hotels, I can tell you that the Four Seasons Firenze really is one of the best hotels in the world. I personally don’t believe in giving away too many details because it will spoil the surprise. But, consider these. First, the bathrooms are the most deluxe I have every visited—rainforest shower head, audio system for listening to the television, longest bath tub I’ve ever seen, brilliant marble and fixtures, and custom designed toiletries from Florence. Second, the common areas of the hotel are sumptuous—oozing of frescoes, detailed ceilings, luxurious fabrics, and class. Yet, it all feels welcoming and not stuffy. Third, the staff are flawless. Our housekeeper actually put our dirty clothes in cloth laundry bags, folded our clean clothes, and picked up/arranged our infant son’s toys. Finally, the hotel gardens are a rare oasis—beautiful and the site of the first-rate spa and pool. My only comment for improvement is that a few of the non-Italian choices on the room service menu (i.e. French onion soup, club sandwich, etc.) need to be spruced up by someone who knows something about non-Italian food. But, on the whole, this is a remarkable hotel, without equal in all of Europe and much of the World.

  • Liked — Room Design, Common Areas, Service
  • Disliked — Non-Italian food on menu, distance to other restraurants.

I'd like to add my voice to the chorus of people raving about this hotel. It ranks amongst my top hotels in the world as the service was perfection, the rooms were perfectly capturing the splendor of Florence and I would come back here any day!

I had read previous reviews that had described this hotel as perhaps the best hotel in the world. After having stayed there for a week (Dec. 26- Jan 2), I agree. Where to start. The property itself is simply amazing. The common areas of the atrium, bar, and restaurant are extraordinarily beautiful. We were in a deluxe room which was stunning. It was a very quiet room that opened to an interior space. The bed and furnishings were top notch. The bathroom was heavenly. The size of the bathroom was without equal in Europe. The staff of the hotel was simply extraordinary. We relied on the concierge greatly and they came through big time with spot-on restaurant recommendations and reservations, side-trip excursions and museum reservations. The food in the restaurant was other worldly. We had the special New Years Eve dinner there which as fabulous. Breakfast was also so elegant and tasty. The spa was fabulous. My massage therapist was excellent. The location is about a 10 minute walk from the heart of the action,but we appreciated the distance from the hub bub. Charges within the hotel are not inexpensive, but in our mind everything was worth it. It is hard to imagine a hotel in all of Italy (and perhaps Europe) which could be better. As you can tell, we loved every aspect of our visit, and we recommend it without any hesitation.
