Description: Thank you for your interest in Enoteca Pitti Gola e Cantina. We are a cozy wine shop and wine bar located in Piazza Pitti just across from the Pitti Palace. Our mission is to select the very best territorial, cultural and traditional wines produced in Tuscany and in Italy. Focusing on small production, high-end wines that are difficult to find anywhere else. Our options by the glass strongly represent this very specific selection. Our goal is to inform our clients of the wines and wine making process of Italy. We have a limited but quite special food selection prepared daily by our chef. We offer an a la carte menu featuring Tuscan appetizers, cheeses, charcuterie and hand made first courses. Still, our dishes are designed to compliment your experience with our wines. We are not a restaurant with a full dining menu. Our kitchen is open from 1:00pm to 3:30 pm then again from 7:30 to 10:30. We are closed on Tuesdays. Apart from a la carte dinning we are now proud to offer Dinner with an Owner. A truly unique experience awaits for wine lovers in Florence. One of the three owners of Enoteca Pitti Gola e Cantina will personally guide you through an extensive tasting of our selection of small production, high end Italian wines. Each of the three gentlemen are extremely knowledgeable and passionate about Italian wines. Through the course of the tasting you will have an opportunity to learn from them about the history, culture, processes and traditions of wine making in Italy. Your host will spend the evening working with your specific tastes to create a personalized tasting that can accommodate every wine lover, from the expert to the novice. Accompanied by a customized, tasting menu created by our Chef. This private tasting is extremely exclusive and as such only ONE is offered per night, on Friday and Saturday nights ONLY. Tastings commonly last from 3 to 4 hours, although depending on the clients they have been known to last even longer. As such, tasting reservations are recommended for 7:00pm (19:00). Reservations are required AT LEAST 3 days in advance, based on availability. Upon reservation any and all food specifications must be confirmed such as allergies, food intolerances, vegetarians or vegans. Only ONE menu may be offered for the entire table, so any and all food restrictions will need to be applied to the meal for everyone at the table. Dinner with an Owner is 140,00 euro per person which will include all food and wine. A keepsake copy of your customized menu with wines will be signed by the owner and given to you at the end of the night. We also offer The Wine Club Tasting which is offered exclusively to those clients who are interested in joining The Wine Club. Created to offer clients an opportunity to discover the types of wines that make it into the selections each year and to decide what package best suits their personal taste and needs. During the tasting clients will sample red wines that are representative of the type of wines that are chosen for The Wine Club Selections. Featuring small production, high end Italian wines and when available, our own private labels. The tasting will be accompanied by a selection of local Italian cheeses. We are happy to offer the tasting complementary upon the completion of The Wine Club membership contract. If you would like a copy of the packet and contract for your country of residence it can be found on our website on The Wine Club Page or please let us know and we would be happy to email one to you. The Wine Club Tasting is offered exclusively in the afternoons from 4pm to 6pm and reservations are highly recommended. The Tasting is complementary for 2 people per signed membership contract. Enoteca Pitti Gola e Cantina is proud to present The Wine Tasting Lunch. A tasting menu comprised of four wines and accompanied by a three course lunch. One of the gentlemen will assist you to select the ideal wine to pair with your dishes and to please your palate from their ample selection of Bubbles, Whites and Reds. The three courses made by our Chef will change frequently and feature fresh, seasonal ingredients. You will have your choice from 2 options for appetizer, first course and dessert. The Wine Tasting Lunch is 35,00 euro per person which will include all food and wine. Reservations are not required but are highly recommended. Our kitchen is open for lunch from 1:00pm to 3:30pm daily, except on Tuesdays as we are closed. For reservations please let us know what date, time, name, how many people and what type of reservation you are interested in making; an a la carte lunch or dinner, a reservation for The Wine Club Tasting, Dinner With An Owner or The Wine Tasting Lunch. We are closed On Tuesdays all day. We thank you so much for expressing your interest in us and we do very much hope to get to see you at Enoteca Pitti Gola e Cantina soon!

“Amazing,amazing and then more amazing!!!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 October 2010

We went to Florence for our honeymoon and one of the places we knew we wanted to try was the Pitti Gola, we went here from recommendations from other people using trip advisor. We assumed it would be a nice place to eat and drink but we didn't expect to LOVE it so much that we wanted to return nigt after night. We went 3-4 times during our 10 day honeymoon and would of gone more if we had tried it sooner. I say 3-4 because I dont rememer little details because Zeno kept the wine flowing ;) Zeno, one of the owners took care of us and was the highlight of the place for me and my husband. He has such a passion for wine and food. It is obvious when speaking to him that he loves what he does. For the review that said this place is over priced is an idiot! In my opinion you get MORE than what you pay for! We chose to do wine by the half glass so that we could try as many wines as possible. I ate so much food that it became the joke of the wine bar how much food I could eat. We went so many times we had tried everything on the menu so Zeno told the chef to make us something special the last night we were there. This place is not just a wine bar that serves awesome food...it is an experience like no other with people who have a love and a passion that shines in there eyes. We not only had a great time but we made friends with Zeno and plan to stay in contact with him. Zeno if your reading this look us up when you come to Texas and we will try to repay the memories you made for us!

“Amazing experience!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 October 2010

On September 26 our little group stopped by this wine bar because of the reviews on TripAdvisor. Zenno welcomed us immediately and placed us at the tiny bar for a glass of wine. By the time we left, we had booked a wine tasting for our last evening in Florence. Zenno created the most wonderful evening of wine paired with food that we had during our entire trip to Italy. The wines he served were spectacular and the food was as good as the wine. This place is charming, reasonably priced with superior service and a knowledge of local wines. It you want a memorable evening or a lovely afternoon in Florence - don't miss Pitti Gola e Cantina.

“our own private wine class”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 October 2010

My wife and I went to Pitti Gola e Cantina last night because of the reviews on Tripadvisor. When we went in my wife asked "is this it?" It is truly tiny. But we tried Tuscan wines I had never heard of and the waiter was extremely knowlegeable. I had some experience with Brunello and Vino Nobile wines, but he had me try two Chianti Classico Monteraponi 2006 wines from the same vineyard, but from different plots, one plot slightly higher up the hill. Both were incredible, but you could tell the difference between the two becaus of the slight difference in altitude. We had a beef tartare with truffles, which really complimented the Chianti, and then knudi dumplings in a mushroom cream sauce and my wife had ravioli with blue cheese and mushrooms, both home made and fantastic. (I cook alot and admit to being a food snob). If you have the chace, don't pass this up. it is tiny and the tables are small, but a great experience.

“Believe all the good reviews”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 October 2010

It has all been said but I must second it. Lovely place, lovely people and memorable food. Especially great on our first night when we were too tired to wait for the other restaurants to get going. You cannot go wrong at this special place.

“A gem on the Oltrarno, with an expert staff.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 October 2010

We were led here by other TripAdvisor reviews, and the first night we went, 30 minutes before closing, we were turned away due to lack of space. There are about 12 seats inside, and in fair weather there are 3 or 4 tables outside with another 8-10 seats. The second night we tried, we were seated outside, but moved inside when it got cooler and then started to rain. Zeno was our guide, and he is an expert in Tuscan wines. We told him what we wanted for appetizers, the bruschetta with tomatoes, mozarella and basil and the millefoglia with pecorino, and put the wine selection in his hands. He suggested a sparkling Franciacorta, and it complemented the food perfectly. We moved on to ravioli with artichokes, pumpkin and ricotta, and a gnudi with shaved truffles and mushroom sauce. The food was outstanding, and Zeno's wine suggestions were spot on. He guided us through the maturation of Brunello di Montalcino from a maker he knows personally at the Il Colle vineyard, starting with 2004 and then 2001 with dessert (flourless chocolate torte). Unbelievable. We got a bottle of the 2001 Brunello di Montalcino and a bottle of the 2006 Rosso di Montalcino (same vineyard) to take home.
This little wine shop is a hidden gem on the Oltrarno. If you are in Florence, you can't pass up a visit to the personable, passionate, and knowledgeable owners of Pitti Gola e Cantina.
