“Great atmosphere and friendly service”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 June 2014 via mobile

Me and my boyfriend went to Ciro and Son's for an anniversary dinner during our stay in Florence. The staff were really friendly and welcoming and the restaurant had a lively easy - going feel to it. The decor is lovely, with original frescoes preserved on the walls. I had the steak, while my boyfriend plumped for grilled octopus and the food was superb. Also has an extensive whisky list, which was a pleasant surprise!

“Worth coming back to Florence for”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 June 2014 via mobile

I first visited this restaurant 5 years ago and went again twice on a visit with my mum last week. (And they recognised us!)

This is a family run restaurant and the quality of good and service is consistently brilliant. It's set in an old palazzo with murals and huge chandeliers.

We loved the antipasti selection, sienna pork, pizza, pasta and the tiramisu and banana cheesecake, and of course the vermentino house white wine.

Will be going back if I'm fortunate to visit Florence again.

“A great meal and experience”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 June 2014

I came here because of the glowing reviews. It was very easy to find and we noticed a really great mixture of tourists and locals. Most people around us seemed to be returning customers. The waiters were very friendly from the start when we stood outside the door. The restaurant is such an eclectic mixture of fancy decor (gorgeous lighting fixtures and a mural on the ceiling) and cheesy but fun accents (like the waiters' Hawaiian shirts). The family pictures on the walls assured us that we finally found a good family owned restaurant. We ordered the Vesuvio pizza and it was so great - especially the mozzarella and truffle oil on the pizza. We also had a strange antipasto, they called it a grilled cheese but it was a big piece of cheese surrounded by slices of meat and covered in balsamic vinegar - we weren't crazy about it. The chocolate soufflé was perfect - with a scoop of hazelnut gelato and slices of fruit. Overall wonderful experience.

“Amazing pizza; even better family-run restaurant!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 June 2014

I had three delicious meals at Ciro and Sons! The restaurant is family-run, and they have adorable family-photos throughout the rooms. Excellent gluten-free options, one member of my family has celiac's, and she said they had the best gluten-free pizza she has ever tasted (you do have to let them know a day in advance to order one)! Pasta dishes were also tasty, and their florentine style steak was outstanding. All in all, I will definitely be eating at Ciro and Sons when I go back to Florence!
