The perfect spot. Right in the centre of town in a historic palazzo. Great service from Stefano and Brid, they've thought of everything. The room was very comfortable, breakfast was tasty, and being able to make tea during the day was a lovely touch. Wireless too. Lucca is a lovely city and having somewhere so nice to pop back to now and then while visiting makes it even better.

This B&B was the best place we stayed at in Italy. The room was gorgeous, with angels hanging over our bed, brick walls, situated in an updated tower on the main shopping street of Lucca. It was situated across from an old church turned into an art gallery, so there was no one opposite us when we opened our windows onto the street. The bathroom was totally new. The common area was pleasant with a typical breakfast of pastry, cereal, and coffee. The hosts were wonderful - gave us a bottle of wine to help us celebrate our honeymoon. We look forward to returning there in the future.

Absolutely delighted we chose to stay here. Very central, 10 minutes walk to bus station and 15 to train station with luggage. Big variety of very good restaurants and shops close to hand. We requested a quiet room at the back, and it was absolutely lovely. The 14th century tower has been lovingly restored but with all modern comforts. We looked on Google Maps before our trip, as the door could be easily missed. In the room where breakfast is served there is a kettle, tea, coffee etc which you are free to use. There is also a fridge you can keep any drinks or food in. I have never stayed with such helpful hosts. They made enquiries, phone calls, booked museum tickets for Florence etc. If you want a change from your normal hotel, and want to really add to the whole 'Italian experience', do not hesitate in booking L'Antica Bifore, very highly recommended.

This was a great B&B in the centre of Lucca, close to all sites. The hosts were great, spoke good English, and were friendly and full of advice. The rooms were good, and with all the mod cons of air conditioning, TV and free wi-fi. The shower was a little cramped, but no more than most B&B showers. Breakfast was simple but quite sufficient.

L'Antica Bifore is a lovely place, perfectly located for exploring Lucca and owners Brid and Stefano are a mine of information regarding the city.

Hint to travelers arriving - you are looking for an antique double door with a brass plate to the right of it, rather than for a traditional hotel facade. We would recommend that unless you are truly comfortable with the size of your car and have a first rate navigator, you don't drive there to drop luggage (which is permissible with advance notification), the streets are so narrow and one wrong turn and you'll quickly get lost in areas filled with restaurant tables and pedestrians. Best to go straight to parking and arrive at the hotel on foot, it's not far.

Full of character like the hosts, The room had plenty of space and shower pressure was good,We had a view onto the street and were lucky enough to watch the September Festival of lights called the Luminaria di Santa Croce from our bedroom window. It was clean and the beds were comfortable.

We wanted to visit Lucca and stay inside the city walls. The location of this B&B was perfect, right in the heart of the city. Our accommodation was beautiful, with luxurious fabrics and individual wall freezes. Our window was spectacular - original 14th Century and looking directly onto the hustle & bustle of Via Fillungi, the main shopping area of Lucca - this didn't mean it was noisy - t wasn't, just a general noise of activity in the background drawing us into the life outside.
Our hosts were wonderful, very helpful = they provided a wonderful breakfast each morning around a communal table that we shared with the other guests. This provided a great opportunity to share experiences and the things we found interesting about the area.

walking around the city walls is well worth doing.

We can't wait to go back again and we would specifically look to stay in L'Antica Bifore again. The only word of caution - do not contemplate driving inside Lucca City Walls unless you want lots of fines and a divorce!!!
