This hotel is inside a walled city so our tour bus was not allowed inside. But no problems with the luggage. The hotel provides a little truck to collect it. By the time we reached our hotel the suitcases were delivered to our rooms. We were all charmed by Fabrizio on check in. This old building has been lovingly renovated. They are individual and different, definitely not the formulaic look of modern hotels. Our bathroom was modern and spacious..our room was disability friendly.
As for Lucca itself, our visit coincided with the Festival of Lights so a real treat. Bellissimo!

Room Tip: Some rooms are upstairs so may not suit elderly or or travellers with mobility problems but the staff are quick to assist with luggage and there is a room on the ground floor.

We stayed here as part of a group and thoroughly enjoyed every minute. Lucca itself was delightful and peaceful after the hectic streets of Florence. This hotel is tucked behind the central square and only minutes from all the major sights. Our room was airy and bright at the top of the hotel. Our bathroom was commodious and well appointed. We trekked the Cinque Terre and found the hot water flowed over aching muscles for as long as we needed. Breakfast was one of the best ever; huge coffee cups, freshly baked torta di nonna and plentiful healthy options. The sitting room was so comfortable and had wonderful art books for reference. the The greatest delight was our host Fabrizio. He made our group so welcome and engaged with us so hospitably. He secured us tickets for the nightly concert of Puccini which was a highlight for us. We visited Lucca on the day of an annual procession and fireworks so felt that we were part of the whole town's celebration. Very highly recommended.

What can I say about Lucca except I didn't want to leave. It is a beautiful walled city, easy walking, great restaurants and a wonderful place to soak up Italian life. The hotel is delightful and down an alley.. Unfortunately we didn't see much of the main hotel as we were assigned to their annex Albergo Diana. Our room was very large with an extra twin bed where we were able to spread out our suitcases which was a real bonus. Refrigerator and wifi were a great addition. There wasn't an elevator in the annex but they took our suitcases up to our room. I'm sure they would have helped us take them back down the 3 flights when we left but it was early and my husband dragged them down himself.

The location was great, a block around the corner to a beautiful square with lots of activities and restaurants. Very quiet and easy access to everything. Breakfat was good but served from 8:00am. Two of the days we missed it because we had to leave earlier than 8:00am. I would definitely stay here again but would see if there was something in the main hotel.

Stayed at the annexe of this hotel for one night. The hotel proper looked very good and welcoming. The annexe called Diana looked as though it had had a recent makeover - vivid colours, very good lighting and bathroom but not much character. There is a large brightly lit drinks machine plonked in the middle of the corridor which seemed out of place. Location very good. We paid 50 euros each for 2 separate rooms but breakfast was not included. Had begun to welcome non inclusive breakfasts as they have mostly been a bit dire. The annexe is functional and unwelcoming. Very quiet and served its purpose as a bed for the night.

I stayed in this charming place for just one night and was given an excellent room with great bathroom. Very helpful staff, a great breakfast and a lovely position made me wish I was staying for longer!
