This hotel is special, both in terms of the facility but also because of the staff. We stayed 2 nights and had a complimentary upgrade as it was our honeymoon, plus help in booking activities during our stay. The place is not the most luxurious but you do not stay here for that you stay here for the location, relaxation and as said before the staff. Our time was part of a stay in Italy that saw us staying at 8 different hotels and this was by some way the best. One thing to bear in mind is if you do not want to travel into Lucca for dinner then the Hotel does a very good dinner indeed.

My husband and I spent 4 nights at the Albergo Villa and had a wonderful experience. The host and hostess were very friendly. Our room was amazing. The breakfast was excellent and we were always able to make a reservation for dinner at the restaurant. They provided us with a bus schedule for the local bus. It took us about 10 minutes to walk to the bus stop. The bus took us to the old city of Lucca which was wonderful to explore. We can't say enough about this B&B. You will not be disappointed.

Room Tip: You will not be disappointed with any of the room. We actually stayed in two different rooms but ea...

We enjoyed the three nights in Villa Marta very much! The staff was very friendly, the place is beautiful, especially the surroundings with the park an pool. Rooms are nice as well, big enough.
Very important to mention is the good restaurant belonging to the hotel.
We'd go there again, fore sure!

We travelled to Italy as a surprise for my boyfriend’s 30th birthday with a large group of family and friends who all stayed at Albergo Villa Marta. I couldn’t recommend it enough. The trip was planned months in advance and the hotel staff were brilliant and helped me sort out transport and special requests for rooms before we had even arrived. The group stayed across a range of rooms and all of them were fantastic. When we arrived the staff were friendly and happy to help with any questions we had. The hotel is a short distance outside of Lucca and we didn’t have a hire car. If there are a group of you then you can split the taxi cost in to town (usually between €15-€20) which makes it affordable otherwise a car would be useful. There is apparently a bus service but we travelled over the Easter holiday so used only taxi’s. The surroundings are beautiful and peaceful. Everyone enjoyed their stay and we would definitely go back!

We booked this place last minute as we were driving through Italy and in need of a place to stop for the night. Being April and slightly off season, we got a great deal on the room rate. I only wish we could've stayed longer because everything about this hotel is first class. The quality of the facilities, service, and location are second to none. Our bedroom was extremely comfortable and quiet, we got an excellent night's sleep. Although the hotel is a relatively small property and is located a little way outside of town, there is nothing parochial about the service offered here. The staff were very professional, welcoming and courteous, and we will definitely be staying here again next time.

After embarking on a weight loss journey with my local slimming club last October (2013) I decided to set a weight loss target, also I needed to have something to look forward too during my battle back to fitness so I booked 3 days away at The Hotel Albergo Villa Marta in Tuscany this April (2014).
Well with a weight loss of 43lbs and feeling so much healthier you could perhaps understand why I was little apprehensive of going to Italy with the best food in the world available and what damage it could do to my regime!
Well long story short, It was fantastic, Lovely friendly helpful hosts and staff, marvelous food and wine ( I recommend the Monte Carlo white) A truly beautiful setting, some nice early morning walks before breakfast up the narrow lane to Coselli where there is a 2.25 hour walking trail past the Church for the more energetic visitors. a super selection for breakfast with freshly baked rolls, Bacon,Fried eggs, sausage, salami, 3 kinds of Cheese, Jams, Cake, Croissants, coffee, Orange or Pineapple Juice etc etc.
A car is essential with GPS for trips further afield, but all are accessible within half an hour or so, we visited two beaches that were recommended to us by the host, we also liked the wine( previously mentioned) so much we visited the vineyard and had lunch there. we visited Lucca and had our evening meal in the main piazza which was also fantastic, We were so impressed that we shall return in September and April next year. oh by the way I lost another 2.5lbs whilst we were there and another member of our party lost 4lbs and we certainly indulged in the Italian way of life.

Room Tip: Higher the better

We were unsure if we had made a mistake staying outside of Lucca instead of within the city walls but on arrival at the hotel, we knew we hadn't. The setting is just beautiful, the photo here does not do the property justice. The rooms are attractively presented (not over the top), spotlessly clean with rural views. Breakfast was of excellent quality with staff very attentive. In fact, all the staff at the hotel are delightful. The owner is a welcoming, jovial guy happy to impart local knowledge and keen for you to enjoy your stay. It was a little early in the season to use the pool but it looked very welcoming and again, a gorgeous setting. We did sit outside to eat one lunch time and were surrounded by bird song and the heavenly ambiance of the Tuscan countryside. We stayed for three nights and were sad when it was time to go. We would definitely stay again.
